When I moved to this smaller house several years ago, I got rid of (auctioned) a substantial amount of the things I had acquired, vowing NOT to let it happen again. Now my little house is overflowing. It's not as bad as you see on the TV show about hoarders, but almost! Last night, I took the bull by the horns and did one room, the living room. It looks so nice. I think if I do one room a day, it's do-able! Thinking of the whole house is too overwhelming! Anyone have thoughts, recommendations?

Seeker, I like the idea of focusing on one room at a time. For me, if I look at the whole HUGE problem I get overwhelmed and never start. Some times if the clutter/mess is too bad I focus on just one certain part of the room. I also have to force myself to see them improvement and congratulate myself. It's w-a-y too easy for me to look at what I got done, then denigrate it compared to what's left to do.

I do exactly the same! Today was errands and regular chores, nothing to do with un-cluttering! But those were things that had to be done, and no time left for organizing. I'll attempt a small area tomorrow! |

Hey seeker you're on the right track but if it's better do section by section. Start off your day by taking care of yourself first, eat well, get some music going to give you more energy
When you get tired do take breaks just make it fun. I have OCD I enjoy cleaning it's a stress relief for me. Good Luck |
