Hi guys,

So I am poor, but would like to give something to my siblings, dad and boyfriend for Christmas. Any suggestions for cheap/free gifts would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Hi, scared and confused. Maybe cute socks or gloves or paperback books?

We have a chain in the U.S. that sells everything for $1.00 and thrift stores that sometimes have new items. I go to them sometimes.

Except for three kids under 5 everyone in my family is over eighteen. We all buy one $1 dollar gift and play a game with the winning round picking a gift then once everyone has a gift we play a few more rounds while the winning person get to exchange a gift with someone else. Say you win and you like the way another gift is wrapped you take their gift and give them the gift you have picked out. That way everyone has something and everyone has some fun. Most of the gifts are joke gifts but they are fun.

Maybe you could suggest something like that for your family?

Small gift cards? Did that last year where I gave a few 15 dollar gift cards to Starbucks.

The dollar store is good too, can find good socks and doohickeys there. Can probably get a card and attach some dollar candy to it. I love my dollar store socks. The diabetic ones are so comfy and stretchy.

I like homemade stuff too!! I still have lots of things my kids and my niece and nephew made for me. This year my granddaughter and I have been decorating ornaments to give everyone. If you have a library close by you can find all kinds of craft books, or recipe books for candy or cookie ideas.

Well, I'm not sure about the guys, but if there are any women in your family I think those really soft, soft socks that are popular now is a great gift. Sometimes they're called 'spa socks'.

I know this will sound crazy. There is a place in North Carolina called Fredohttps://www.gofundme.com/2zq6gzc`s rescue. I get a big 912 a month on disability and I made a 10 dollar donation to them. Maybe give Fredo`s a few dollars each in honor of your loved ones?? I sent out 3 different messages on Facebook, when I was still on it and challenged the people to just give a few dollars, 5 dollars, no amount is to small as they really need all the help they can get. Not one person gave them a single dime. It upset me pretty good. It is just a suggestion and if anyone on here wants to donate to them, Please, please do!!!! Thank you. By the way, I am not involved with Fredo`s at all, I live in Ohio and they are in North Carolina. The ladies that are running it, their dad is a famous NASCAR driver from the 50`s to the late 60`s.

Hey, if you live in the U.S. there is what are known as "little free libraries." You can find some really nice, well kept books and other small things there as well. But, make sure you bring some old unwanted books there with you, so other people can get some. Another great cheap gift idea is, if you have a nice camera and you are good at taking pictures, go out and take some photography pictures, edit them, and print them. Also, pinterest.com has some fantastic cheap artsy stuff you could do. I hope this helps!

go to the dollar stores. I am sure you will find some stuff there. They always put out small christmas items like perfumes, little plaques, soft comfy socks, cups etc. You can get some snacks and make a movie box. they sell popcorn, candy, and a popcorn bucket. Sometimes they even have movies. Check it out

I went to the $1 store (Dollar Tree) and got stuff for co-workers. Bought each a Christmas-y coffee cup ($1), a packet of cocoa mix (4 for $1), small marshmallows ($1) for the bag, some red plastic wrap ($1 for the roll) and a box of mini candy canes ($1 for the box). I'm going to put the cocoa, marshmallows (wrapped in red wrap) and candy canes in each cup. Each gift will be less than $5.

Dollar Tree has some very nice calendars for $1 each. Who doesn't need a calendar?

Also picked up some nice hand/body lotion and soap gel for $1 each.

One of my friends loves her cats. She texts me their pictures frequently. I bought picture paper at Dollar Tree. Am going to print out pics of her fur babies and put them in cute frames I found at Dollar Tree.

An idea that would only cost you the paper to print them would be to create "coupons" for things you could do for the person, like wash the car, clean the house, run errands. You could tailor the coupon to what the person needs.
Thanks for this!

Shopping in a thrift shop is where I go for inexpensive gifts. Of course one should double check for half way decent quality. That said there can be found real bargains. Flea markets and house sales are other fabulous ways to find fantastic bargains.

Food. Get a glass jar. Fill with dry beans or colorful pasta and a wedge of parmigiana cheese
