Remember that one toy or item from your childhood that you coveted above all others? That once special thing that gave you security and comfort like nothing else in the whole wide world?

Mine was a brown teddy bear that my auntie gave me when she came to visit my mother and I the day I was born. His name is Mr. Brown Bear, and he's been with me through thick and thin, touch times and good times, over these past 33 years. Of course, he's well loved, so he's naturally got some holes where the stuffing is falling out, and his "fur" is all course and threadbare in spots. However, He's always been there, and hopefully, always will.

I brought him to Grandma's house when we came to visit. He scared off the mean monsters from trying to take me away in the middle of the night. He kept by my side when I was sick, and he's been the best secret keeper I've ever known.

Along with my tattered and torn (well loved) baby blanket, he's the most cherished item I possess, and I wouldn't give him up for the entire world.

My Barbies were my favorite toys. I didn't have a teddy bear until I was an adult.

Had a horse my mom made called sea biscuit the race back in my babyhood. No winder why I have loved horses all my life. Had another really expensive stuffed horse my grandparents bought for me named Teddy...he was small enough he could go with me every whete. Got him when I was 5 years old

Kitty Gunn, a stuffed grey cat. Like Artchic's bear he is very well loved. He is fragile enough now that he sits in an honored place on top of my dresser. I'm afraid he would fall apart if I still slept with him. When I was in counseling and really struggling I found a current version of him. Kitty Gunn II sleeps with me. I used to take him with me in the car when I went to therapy.

Earliest comfort toys ... my teddy bear, and my Snoopy soap dish (which squeaked when squeezed).

Stuffed Snoopy doll my best friend gave me in first or second grade. He out-lasted my first marriage.

A green stuffed cat my mom made. Found out years later she made the gift because my parents were damn near broke from car repair and some doctor appts for me, I didn't know anything about it.

That was the best gift ever!

my bouncy tigger

you simply clapped your hands, and tigger would bounce across the room singing his song

(of course, he had to be on a flat surface first)

he was a lot of fun

my other one was a little recorder (voice recorder)

it was like small enough to fit in your palm, and i'd go around recording everything- listen on conversations, record the sound of the rain, me making baby noises, what ever
Thanks for this!

Two votes for Snoopy? Good grief, is that all?

I used to love Peanuts so much, I wanted to find action figures. Couldn't find any. So, I made my own little cardboard cutouts of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, Lucy etc. They even had accessories like wearable baseball gloves and caps.

Like Christina my favourite is a homemade teddy called 'Ted', my mother made him for me when I was a baby (they were likely broke too) and he's unique. He's in storage these days but I'd never get rid of him.
Thanks for this!

I still have my little stuffed wolf "wolfie". Lol she is sitting on my coffee table right now. I got her when I was four years old at a souvenir shop in Maine while on vacation with my family.

Yeah...apparently he performed in a couple of cities recently and the word was that he was drunk onstage. He denied that, said he has early-onset dementia and that it's starting to show. He said he won't be performing anymore. Sad.

I really can`t think of anything. I did have a 3D effect Johnny Lightning Indy car Al Unser Sr. drove at the Indy 500. I loved that thing. It ended up getting knocked off the wall and it just broke into pieces. This happened in the early 80`s and I got it in 1970 or 71.
