I wish to live even only one day of my childhood and teen days (80s and 90s).
Life was so simple, pure and clear, small things could make us happy, although we didn't have the nowadays technology and amazing facilities, but life was much more tasteful. I miss those days when I had no stress and anxiety, when I was playing as a little kid with other kids of my age, those simple games fulfilled our hearts with happiness without iPads and iPhones. Sometimes when I hear an old song that I have used to listen at the past, I feel that I want to cry over those days. I understand well that it is a state of escaping from the present and the future. Living in the past is not beneficial at all. The solution for that is to creat better memories which I really can't find for more than a decade. I miss my old soul too much. I don't really remember those days, as their wern't many
but yes, I do sort of know what you mean before my mental health journey started, their was a bit of time where life seemed exciting and fun (I actually miss playing on the swings!). I loved the swings, and used to swing outside looking at the birds flying past |

Though I am quite young compared to others on here I've felt the same recently. My sister played a song I remembered hearing as a kid a few days ago and I started crying! I've been coping with nostalgia by playing old video games I used to play when I'm in a bad mood. I also talk about childhood memories with my friends a lot. Reminiscing is nice but I try to keep it contained so I can stay present.

Wow I actually made a post like this awhile back. I miss how when I was in high school I'd just laugh at everything. My laugh is contagious so my friends and I would just end up holding our gut. I haven't laughed that hard in 10 years. I totally get it.

I was raising my kids in the '80's-'90's and sometimes I miss those times so much I physically feel the ache. I think it's especially hard because the world seemed to get really weird after 2000.

While I had some good memories from my youth, I'm glad I've grown up since then.

I understand totally. I wish I was the girl on horseback again, who had no "real life" to deal with or bills looming every month. I am not saying I would like to give up my house or my pets, but I wish I had the "down time" that I had then to be "me".
