I found this pretty cute game. It's basically a horse riding MMO. You start off with a starter horse, basic tack and basic riding gear. You can customize your rider and horse a little at first, and more options open up as you play and gain experience. You take care of your horse by feeding, watering, and brushing it and picking it's hooves. The more you do this, the happier your horse will be and the faster it'll be. Neglect your horse and it'll grow unhappy and be very slow to ride.

You can upgrade your tack and riding gear by earning in game money through quests, and leveling up. You can also buy new horses who have better stats, with a variety of breeds and colors available.

This is basically any horse lover's dream game. However, the rider you play as can only be female, as I believe that's the target audience, so be aware of that if you want to play this game.

If you already play this game, I'm Gabrielle Greenleaf and I'm on the Chocolate Cupcake server. Feel free to add me as a friend!

I just found out about the app from this game. Basically, you raise a foal in the app and can transfer it into the Star Stable MMO once it's reached level 10 and thus, is an adult. Right now I'm raising a Haflinger foal in the app. She's only at level 2, as I've only just gotten her. I chose the paler version (you can chose from 3 coat colors!), as I've always loved palominos of the more pale variety.

There was an option to raise a mustang as well, but I wanted the Haflinger.

Here's the link for the MMO: https://www.starstable.com/en/

And the links to the app.

Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...rstable.horses
iTunes App Store: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/star...126342383?mt=8

With a bit of tweeking, I got the app to play on my Kindle Fire too. You just need to sideload the Google Play Store and then use that to download the app onto the Kindle. There's tutorials on how add the Google Play store on your Kindle Fire all over YouTube. It's not hard at all, and there's actually no hacking involved.

I just bought a Jorvik Pony in the game! Jorvik is the name of the Island on which the majority of the game takes place. The game was made in Sweden, hence the name "Jorvik". Now all I need to do is figure out where to learn how to jump.

Anyways, here's what my Angelwings, the Jorvik Pony, looks like!!

Star Stable: A horse riding MMO game!

I haven't bought any tack to use on her yet. I'm saving up my Jorvik Shillings, that's the in game currency. You can buy premium currency, known as Star Coins, with real world money. What MMO wouldn't offer premium currency? You can also buy a membership, with packages ranging from a month's long one, and ending with the biggest package, which is a lifetime membership, a huge amount of Star Coins and a weekly allowance of 100 Star Coins.

this sounds good.

since horse racing is actually the only sport I watch (especially the grand national), I might give this a go.

It is an interesting game and app. I just learned how to jump and now can jump over fences and other obstacles. Makes racing a lot easier, I'll tell ya.

Doing it in real life sounds fun. I've done some of it in real life, and it's a lot of hard work. I've also fallen off a horse a few times. Not so much fun considering the falls resulted in bone bruises. However, that's all part of riding, as my mother says. She grew up riding a chestnut gelding named Blue Boy that was a little skittish, especially if she rode him near town. That's probably because he was just 3 years old when my mom got him. Still a bit untrained, as my mom says. He wasn't of any particular breed, just your garden variety farm horse. At least he didn't have any paperwork suggesting he was a certain breed.

Mom's sister had a lovely bay quarter horse mare named Sugar, who did come with paperwork that said her breed, but the name was a bit deceiving. Sugar had quite the attitude about riding, going so far as to try balk at the reigns and buck her rider off, that is, if anyone could get her still enough to mount her. A lot of sore feet were to be had around her as she loved stomping them. Sugar was a stark contrast to the third horse my mom's other sister had, Betsy. She was an old mare who was easy to ride and easy to handle. However, she'd turn around and try to go back to her stable if you weren't paying attention and she felt she had enough of you on her.

My great grandfather was also an avid horseman. He was in the US Cavalry during WWI, and tended to the horses in his regiment. There's an old photograph of him we still have where he's in full cavalry uniform astride a handsome cavalry horse.

The game sounds like fun, but I have enough work to do in the real world tending my own horse.

Well, I believe you. Like I've said, I've done it in real life before and it's a lot of hard and dirty work. Mucking stables, washing and grooming the horse, picking their hooves. Owning a horse is not as glamourous as one might think. It's also not cheap either. You need a phone book worth of folks to keep them in tip top shape. A farrier, vet, trainer, feed lot for regular hay and feed deliveries. And that's if the horse doesn't need to see a specialist for anything. They also take up a lot of space. You need a barn and a big enough paddock to keep them happy.

I don't have the resources or finances to properly take care of a horse, so playing this game is the next best thing. You can even do daily chores within certain areas of the Island of Jorvik to earn the favor of that area. Yes, that does mean mucking and feeding and watering. However, it's more enjoyable to muck out a virtual stable than it is in real life somehow. Must be because you don't get all hot and sweaty and can't smell the stalls. Kind of takes away some of the ambiance, I know, but what can I say? I enjoy this game.

I now have 3 horses. Starbeam, the horse I started out with, Angelwings, the Jorvik pony, which I'm currently training, and Diamond Dust, a pure white Tinker Horse (which is a draft horse complete with feathering on her hooves). I've also gotten Anglewings a completely purple set of tack and leg wraps, complete with a purple saddlebag that holds a silver tabby kitten I'm calling Violette. I also decked myself in purple clothing and ricing gear. Can you tell it's my favorite color?

This morning I was playing and saw the most beautiful sunrise in the game. Not bad for a MMO? Eh?

Artchic, I didn't mean to insult you about the game. Your response kind of sounds like I did. I was making a joke that apparently fell on it's face.

Horses and racing honestly aren't my thing but I do wish the best for any new MMOs that come around.

MMOs have been losing popularity in recent years while shooters and MOBAs have been dominating.

So when new MMOs come out that aren't pay 2 win garbage, it's a win for the gamer community as a whole

Oh my! You certainly didn't insult me. I was just trying to make conversation is all.

Oh, okay.

I actually enjoy cleaning stalls. It gives me a chance to turn my brain off while I do something physical. Gotta agree that horse ownership is much different in reality than books and movies make it out to be though. Lots of hard, dirty work, but worth it all to be around the beasts. Last year when my two gelding died two weeks apart I felt like a major part of me had been amputated.

Oh, I bet. I'm so sorry to hear about your geldings. I bet they are running together at the Rainbow Bridge, waiting for you to join them someday.

What I like about this MMO is that you can pay once to be a member for life and be done with it. That way you don't have that increasing cost for the game. It's not nearly as money centric as a lot of MMOs are in that respect. Membership grants you a weekly allowance of 100 in game coins to use on stuff in game to better your character. Much better than a lot of MMO games I see.
