In my experiences through life, the most shocking video that I have seen so far is a surveillance video of a paraplegic lady stealing a car from a homeowners driveway.

Which is a bit of a shock to me due to the fact that my wife is paraplegic and stealing a vehicle, if I may say, is of least of her capabilities.

I watched a PSA that was sponsored by the parents of the victims of Sandy Hook.

It's not graphic at all, but shocking:

The most intense PSA I've ever watched was a drunk driving video, but it's way too graphic to post here even though it was all fake.

"Enter the Dangerous Mind." It was fiction, but the two main characters are schizophrenic. The woman was taking meds, holding down a job, and going to college. The man, on the other hand, was not taking care of himself and really struggling. It's pretty graphic.

I can't think of any nonfiction videos off the top of my head, but awhile back there was this B rated horror movie that I watched on Netflix that I enjoyed because it resonated with me since I had a lot of issues with being bullied in my past. I think it's called "The Final" or something like that but I don't remember because it's been awhile.

It was about these group of high school students who had bullies making their lives a living hell most of their lives so they finally had enough and planned revenge by luring them all to a party and having their drinks spiked and chaining them up and having them tortured. They had a football player stabbed in the spine so he could never play football again, poured acid on a girls face so she would never look pretty again, got one kid caught in a bear trap and did some other pretty messed up things.

Of course there was one kid that they lured there without meaning to and the kids who organized this got into a dispute so one of them freed him despite the other's protests because this one kid is the only one who ever showed them compassion and because of that, the cops got called and I won't talk much about the ending but it had a very powerful message about bullying.

What's scary is had I not been such a coward, I would have done something similar to those who have bullied me without a second thought.

I forget this youtube channel name, probably Sandy Saint John (correct me if I'm wrong). It's actually fictional character, about an ex-model who had accident and left disfigured. Then, she hide behind mannequin mask and had some of her body parts replaced with mannequin. Her videos are about her doing everyday task or singing or dancing.

It's not gore or horrors, but quite disturbing. Not mention the quality of the videos are awful (it's old video through).
Thanks for this!

A security cameras clip of security guards at a state hospital killing a patient in their zealousness to subdue him.

Nothing I'd link here. One was a video about a day in the life of a bulimic, but it was pretty raw and more like an art piece than anything. Very sad to see. The other one was a video showing a young woman getting ECT which was shocking and sad to see as well. When she was saying how she was drooling, forgetting things, and out of it... yeah, I just think it's sad that MH can make us so desparate that was resort to basically frying our brain. I hope they find a better way. Good luck anyone who's going for ECT, by the way; hope it helps.

As far as fiction, almost all of my favorite films involve someone who would arguably have mental illness, or at the very least a personality disorder.

Blue Velvet for example, is my favorite film. Or, I mean, it was rife with sexual disorders. And sociopathy. Certainly there was mental illness, if it were to be analyzed, peppered in there. It shocked me at the time.

But most shocking video? I'd have to really think on that. I'll get back to you on that one. I could cheat and say the Luka Magnotta video, but the consensus is he had no mental illness and merely a personality disorder.

The obsessed Bjork fan video was pretty disturbing at the time. That was a very clear case of mental illness. Documented in video diary style.

I can say the latest sort of shocking video involving a mental/physical illness I've seen though. It'd be a YouTube clip of Shelley Duvall on Dr. Phil's show (can't stand Dr. Phil). Not shocking in as much as seeing the symptoms of schizophrenia, but shocking in the sense of seeing how vastly different she was from her former years as a result. Deeply in the throes of it. Seeing the dramatic change was fairly surprising, and alternately sad.
