Hi, all,
I tried to post a pic on this thread of my mosaic tile floor but couldn't get it to come up, so I've placed it in the photo gallery with my other pics. It's a lot harder work than I had anticipated and taking much longer than I had hoped. Take a look if you have time.

Wow... your mosaic tile floor looks beautiful.. Lots of patience you have.. If I was doing it, I am sure a few of the tiles would be tossed on a wall. haha...

They say you get more patient as you grow older.. Looks like I missed out ....

Thanks, Kathryn...I've wanted to do something like this for a long time, and I love mosaic as an art form.

That is an awsome mosaic.....where is this floor?.....that you are sweaty & bug bitten?

I love the colours you are using.....you like mosaic's....have you seen the mosaics that come from vatican city. Talk about amazing....some of the tiles they use are the size of a pin head. I went through the place where they make all the vatical mosaics when I took the tour through the Vatican Gardens. Then I also saw a showing of those mosaics at the LA County Art Museum many many moons ago.

That was when I fell in love with mosaics also.

Your floor mosaic is going to be a masterpiece just like the ones in Rome.....the ruins where the baths are also have mosaics still preserved in them also......hopefully your mosaic will still be there 1000's of years later too.....who knows how famous you floor may end up being.....& you through it was just a project of love???...lol.

Keep the patience....I always start with huge projects that take years to finish too.

thanks, Eskie!
It is out on my concrete front porch. I have finished the tile work, but still have to grout it.
I thought of you today as I was driving back from Louisville. Kentucky is so beautiful.

Patty,

I was so surprised at the photo I received form the carpenter who is installing my windows....the front yard is all brown....& I mean as brown as the dirt in California....I couldn't believe how bad the drought is. I hope the beautiful woods along hwy 68 are still green.....I am sure they will be changing colours soon.

I will be back in Kentucky during October, beginning of November.....if you are in the neighborhood, you will have to drop by.

Debbie
