For about a year or so I've been inexplicably exhausted. My brain is foggy, my memory is vague, I can't remember what I've done the day before... or the morning of the same day! I was never this way before. I always had tons of energy and a positive can-do attitude. But now... I can barely make it through a day without a long nap... and hanging out with friends and family seems like a huge undertaking.
Has anyone else had any experience with a similar situation?

Perhaps ask your doc about a blood test for your thyroid?...I spent almost 2 yrs wondering why I was suddenly so drained all the time. A specific test for thyroid deficiency nailed it. Now I take a replacement for the lowered thyroid hormone and feel much better.

Many people go undiagnosed with this Sass. Hyperthyroidism it's called. You may have heard of it already. The common symptoms are easy enough to find on the net. Best to see yr doc though. The fatigue for me was the main symptom AND the foggy brain...I'm much better now...still a bad day or two but nothing like it was.

In any case the doc needs a looksee. Please do this whether you like going to the docs or not. You'll be on the road to nailing this down and feeling better. I'm no doc but by god it sounds like thyroid stuff to me. Maybe someone else can comment as well.
Thanks for this!

Yes I have the same thing. Been tested for my thyroid too and that was fine. I just chalk it up to all the stress I am under.

Could be a physical issue like thyroid, anemia, b-12 deficiency.

Otherwise it could be depression like in me. Usually at late evening I have these energy boosts, like right now, so I better go and make best use of it For the rest of the day I'm a flop.

Yeah, but in my case it's because I have a baby and so haven't slept in almost two years (since she was conceived pretty much).

I get really fatigued when I have low iron, though. You should get some bloodwork done. Are you on medication? My Effexor makes me really tired all the time, to the point where when I finally do get sleep I struggle waking.

The opposite unfortunately. I slept until 2PM so now it's 3:30 AM and I can't sleep.

My doctor is 1.5 hours away so it's difficult to get a ton of tests done. Bit so far nothing is pointing to why I'm tired. Although, when I researched all my symptoms, the possibility of Hoshimoto's Disease came up. So I'm going to ask my doctor about that.
Im hoping I can get some answers soon.

I find I have enough energy for my part-time job and very little else.

I have felt exhausted and have had anhedonia for the last couple of years. Several years ago I thought it was bad, but when I look back now at how I was then I feel nostalgic for "the good old days". Those days weren't that good but I seem to be getting worse.

I hear you Teddy. I used to have tons of energy. Now, I go out grocery shopping for an hour and I have to come back and take a nap! It's crazy!

Have-to's to pay for the want-to's. I know what you mean. Who put us on this hamster wheel? And how do we get off?
