So I decided that I want to delve into the world of Grinding/Biohacking in order to heal from my own issues my way and to further enhance myself, both physically and intellectually.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grinder_(biohacking) When I get paid later this month, I am dropping some money on getting my DNA tested through a site that tests DNA primarily for the purpose of uncovering one's ancestral origins and then I am going to send my genetic data over to a company that provides genome analysis in order to learn everything that I can about myself, such as what genes I possess, my genetic strengths and weaknesses, and any other data that I can to improve myself and then I am going to develop a plan to hack myself though a strictly optimized diet, supplements, or even tech implants later down the road to ensure that I am the best possible version of myself that is physically possible. I know I'm obsessed and all but I want to improve myself any way that I can. |

Also, since I am obsessed with even numbers and I want to get to an even number of posts before I log off PC to get lunch, here is another cool thing that I want:
https://www.sciencealert.com/mit-is-...h-in-real-time Color changing tattoos that monitor your health. I want tattoos to hide my ugly scarring from self harm and ugly stretch marks from being overweight as a kid from stupid pills and what better way of doing this than something as cool as a color changing tattoo? |

This is obscure(and mad). You will have to read previous stuff on my site to get a little clarification.

I love to program with shell. I'm a big Linux fan and use it exclusively and extensively. I'm usually always working on one of my many shell projects, some rather large. I'm sort of obsessed, TBH. xD
I like using vimscript, (I love VIM and use it daily) but don't tend to use vimscript much anymore. I made a couple of simple functions recently, to change colorschemes on-the-fly, by calling functions using the keys <leader>color1<CR> and <leader>color2<CR>, but that's about it; not something I'll really use, I was just missing vimscript. xD I used to use awk quite a bit. I stopped obsessing over it once I got enough out of it and eventually came across more efficient ways (using tools like cut, grep, tr, shell builtins, shell logic, bash brace variable usage, extended globbing, etc). I did go through a phase of learning python and I still sometimes miss some of the syntax, but there are things about it which really put me off. I'm more into system administration and writing programs for added functionality, (terminal-focused) typically to that effect, so I guess it's just as well I'm happy with shell. --- This paragraph might be triggering to those who suffer with paranoia --- Oh, and regarding hacking, I can't imagine that's an appropriate topic here, however, I will add that I became very interested in that topic a while back. I wanted to better understand Internet security. What I learned is very useful when administering Linux and all that jazz. I'm far more aware than I ever was, that's for sure. I still learn, but not necessarily "hacking", more things you can do to bolster security, such as locking the root password, using shadow passwords, using nosuid and nodev on certain partitions like /tmp and /var, making sure you have a decent umask and permissions for system directories, checking tcp connections, using lsof to monitor ports, etc. --- This paragraph might be triggering to those who suffer with paranoia --- BTW, if anyone here is into shell or finds they do stuff in terminals on UNIX-like systems such as Mac or Linux, feel free to PM me if you need help with something or just want to talk nerd. ![]() Quote:
My knowledge with code, Linux, German, guitar, body language, mental health, dogs, and a bunch of other things are partly or even entirely down to having the Internet as a learning resource. Not to mention were it not for the Internet, we wouldn't be able to post these messages for us all to see. ![]()

Actually I have a bit of a question I haven't had time to find a solution for. I'm trying to import excel as a module to use the spreadsheets to help build extensive lists and then start building more complex directories in python. Is there a way to do this? I know you can do something similar in powershell, but I don't want to do it in powershell. I want to eventually my own custom extensive catalog system down the line. It'd really help to just have an easy way to start managing a few excel spreadsheets so I can start to collect the data in the several categories that I need to have, so later I can just write something to import the data into the code to dump the values in.
Where can I get the quickest and easiest way to learn to do this? Thank you guys! |

Im not really an expert in python or any computer programming. I just started learning it for fun and I seem to know more and more, just casually on the way.
Maybe this: https://www.datacamp.com/community/t...ial#gs.vJPVX8s Today I tried to find a way to rename multiple files at once. Still trying... it would go faster if I didnt have to rest after every few minutes of staring into screen... |
