North American friends take heed

LOOKING DIRECTLY AT THE SOLAR ECLIPSE WILL DAMAGE YOUR EYES PERMANENTLY

Many 'eclipse glasses' including those sold on Amazon, are knock-offs and will not offer protection. Glasses need to be the same grade as welding shields.

A safe and easy way to view the coming eclipse is by a pinhole camera. These can simply made with card board and tin foil. Here is a link to the NASA instructions on how to do so. In the meantime please instruct your children not to look at the eclipse.

If you have purchased mass-marketed disposable "eclipse glasses" ensure they have been marked with the following (please pass along):

ISO 12312-2
