Does anyone here use a mail-order pharmacy? How does it compare to getting your meds filled at a retail pharmacy?

I have one med that cannot be purchased at any local pharmacy -- specialty pharmacy only -- and I do not like having to be certain I am home and awake in order to sign for it at the time of delivery. Many years ago I purchased a couple of meds from a mail-order pharmacy for a while in order to get a decent price, but I would not do that today without first being absolutely certain of the actual source.

A few years ago I had Kaiser insurance. They sent meds by mail. I was VERY skeptical at first, but actually it all worked smoothly and well.

I use mail-order pharmacy. I absolutely love it. Lines at Kaiser are insane, just a few clicks and boom, it's there within a day or two. And Kaiser will say when I go to order that I need a doctor's authorization, and at first I had to message my doctor but now Kaiser will contact the doctor so as soon as it is approved they fill it and ship it. So easy.

Thank you for the reminder! I just had my order refilled and it was super easy! It also stores one CC so I just click on it and I don't have to fill out my CC information every single time. Woo hoo!

I used one for a while. It was a little cheaper however we were getting ready for vacation. I made sure I allowed enough time to get my meds in before we left. My error was when they arrived I did not check them right away. I was trying to get kids packed and make sure our animals were taken care of etc.
Anyway they forgot to send one of my meds an important one. So I had to call them and ask for it to be shipped overnight. They said they could not it would take a couple of days I had to get a supervisor on the phone because they offer overnight shipment so I didn't see what the issue was. I did get my meds but it made me cautious of ever using mail order again __________________

I had to at a former employer years ago. They send your 3 month supply and every thing is hunky dory. Your doc changes your meds and you end up with a few months of meds you can`t use. I would never use another one. Wasted way to much money on it.

My health insurance requires I use mail order for meds I use all the time. Two 'scripts are set for auto refill. I get an e-mail telling me the meds were shipped. I usually get them within a couple of days. Another 'script is for a med that can't be auto refilled but all I have to do is go to the website and ask it be refilled. I was skeptical at first. I was also afraid someone might steal the meds out of my mailbox. I live in a rural area with the box down by the road, a long way from the house. I've never had any problems. After my initial hesitation, I'm happy with the program. Sure beats standing in line at the pharmacy.

I order mine through patient access. It goes straight to my doctors surgery then I just collect from the pharmacy, I need to give 48 hours notice though.

I get my medication delivered, yeah. I like it, it's just embarrassing and makes me feel silly. The delivery woman is nice though; always a bonus.

I used to get my meds delivered because it was much cheaper than using a retail pharmacy,
But now that I don't pay for my meds anymore I just get them from a regular old retail pharmacy I liked having my meds delivered to me, less of a hassle |
