Ive been up since 2am as i was evacuated from my home due to a major fire. The court was in flames as I left. All I worry about are my two cats I had to leave behind. Let the house burn but God dont take my fur babies from me. I am so scared and hysterical. We've been driving in gridlock all night and now we are desperately looking for a hotel to stay at. Please send me and my family and Evy and Salem your prayers. My dog max is safe in a kennel far from the fire.

The entire neighborhood is flat, burned to the ground. We havent seen it for ourselves yet but my dads coworker drove through it.

Obviously you're in NorCal, near the coast. I'm more inland, but we're getting smoke here.

I am horrified by these fires. Do you know for sure if your house is gone? Your cats.....???

My dad's coworker drove through the court. He said my brother's truck was the only thing that "survived". Tomorrow I am contacting the humane society to see if my cats have been rescued.

I am so sorry this happened and of course you are hysterical and/or in shock! I am glad you and your family and safe and hope your cats are too! Take all the help you can get and try to lean on each other as much as you can. It will be a journey to recovery from this so of course you, your family and all your pets are in my prayers.

Lark we are in the Bay Area to. my hubby's boss lives in Santa Rosa and got to work only to turn around and have to go home because of the evacuations. Family members, friends have lost everything. The smoke is bad.

If you find your fur babies they have opened up a shealter that will let you bring them with you.

I imagine too there are lists of people willing to foster pets if you are unable to have them at a shelter

The news just said they are up to 22 different fires all more or less in the same area. Most people are having trouble with cell service. 380 people are missing and the wind is supposed to pick up tonight.

I hope Lark is safe
