I was sitting at the head of my driveway, near the closed garage door waiting for the pizza delivery guy to show up (didn't want to wake Dad so that's why I was out there), shivering in the cold when to my eyes did appear a handsome fox.
 It went on by me as if it either didn't notice me sitting quietly or didn't even care that I was there. I literally said "HOLY SHYTE!" after I saw him go by. I would have taken a picture but it would have likely come out blurry and by the time I got my phone out, he was already gone. I swear, the fox was 6 feet away from me. Wow, that's incredible. Foxes are very sneaky and it's hard to catch a glimpse of them.
I remember the spring I first moved to Montana. I was running on a trail, and I saw these little squirrel like creatures ahead of me on the trail...OMG, when I got up close, they were baby foxes! I had come across a whole family crossing the trail. The mama fox had run off to hide, but the babies were slow to follow because they weren't afraid of people yet. __________________  What if I fall? Oh, my dear, but what if you fly? Primary Dx: C-PTSD and Severe Chronic Treatment Resistant Major Depressive Disorder Secondary Dx: Generalized Anxiety Disorder with mild Agoraphobia. We also saw a family of foxes while in Ontario 2 years ago. Soooooo cute!

I've taken to given the fox the nickname of Swift, after the fox, Swift, in one of my favorite childhood TV shows, "David the Gnome".

Artchic528, That's really cool! What species of fox was it? The gray fox has a black tip on its tail, and the red fox has a white tip on its tail.

It was orange, so I'm thinking it was a red fox.

Nice to see them......sort of a rare sighting because they're so reclusive and usually only come out at dusk or night.

How wonderful for you. Exciting.
Spiritually, seeing a fox is an indication to open your eyes. There may be an alternate meaning to something weighing on your mind. They are good to have around as they will rid the area of rodents. Say 'hello' to Swift from me. |

We have a lot of foxes in Toronto's ravine system. So many in fact that in some neighbourhoods they're a nuisance, and residents are warned to keep small pets in at night, so that they don't inadvertently become dinner.
