Right now we are getting heavy snow, already about 6 and a half inches
and still coming down. The wind is blowing about 45 M.P.H.
White out conditions as I am posting this. The worst of it is on the coast here
in N.J. and of course that is where I live. They say we will get about 10 inches
before it's over but if it keeps up like this I will be surprised if that's all we get.
I hate this and I want spring in the worst way. Wish I was in Mexico on the beach.

My 27 year old son, his fiance, and their two cats will be on a houseboat near Boston Harbor for the storm. I'm worried to death, but you can't tell kids anything.

Wow! I can understand why you'd be worried since they're on a houseboat! I hope they stay safe!

Pardon me for expressing my views, but huge storms are one of my favorite natural events. I'm an adrenaline junkie & I look forward to such snow events. I wish I was on the east coast right now! It just colder than a well digger's arse here...

I do agree that huge storms are amazing to see but freezing temps and a ton
of snow is just no fun at all.

Wow! I hope you have a snow blower. One thing I hate about those storms I love so much is clearing the snow in their aftermath!

I live in an apartment so the parking lots get plowed but you still have to
shovel out your car a bit. I owned a home for 30 years and I hated shoveling
snow more than anything.

I live in CT and so far we have had a foot of snow. They have closed all schools and government offices. We are having wind gusts but they have been severe as expected.

The snow I'm seeing on the news looks lovely, but I know it's no fun to live in.

Send some colder temperatures out west. I've never experienced such a warm winter. It's very odd. We got a wee bit of rain overnight, but overall, this season has been extremely dry. And then there was a moderate earthquake near San Francisco last night. I didn't feel it (was asleep), but apparently most people did.

This would be the only reason that I do not mind I left NH and moved to Virginia. We got 1 inch of snow here and the county closed the schools.

As a former resident of NH, that must crack you up! As a Michigander, I can tell you it would take 1 FOOT of snow to close schools.

The snow has let up. We had over a foot of snow. There has been a lot of drifting. There is a low 2 to 2 1/2 drift running down my sidewalk. I cleared most of my driveway. I am about to go out to finish it.

It is really bothering me that the news is calling this storm a "deadly" storm. Its like they're having a freaking field day. Again. At the same time, everyone in its path, stay safe.

Hoping your son and his fiance are safe. Can you call them. Do either of them own cell phones?

Here in Philly we got 8 inches. I shopped at the local supermarket so there's plenty of food. That's the positive. The negative is feeling rather isolated. ie snowed in. Well at least there's my phone both cell and longline.

I drove a school bus out in the Foothills and Mountains and would already be on the road picking up children by 630am in the mornings. Half my bus would be full by the time a 'snow day' was called. We just plowed through the 2+ feet of snow and took them to the school anyway where they played games and studied for the day. It was pretty much only the city kids that got to stay home.

I have sent texts back and forth twice a day or so. Shockingly, they haven't lost power but the water line froze solid and broke. Not sure how they are coping with not being able to flush!

Not so much as a flake of snow here. Still pretty damn cold though.

I just want to see any snow this winter. Even on the rare occasions that we do have it, it usually never sticks.

I hate the freeze and thaw cycles. I feel housebound. I hate icy sidewalks.
