Are you weird? Do you consider yourself to be odd, unusual or way out there? Do other people think that you're weird? Do they look at you funny or avoid you because of the way you behave or the things that you say? How do you feel about normalcy and what is "normal" in your eyes?

I do consider myself to be a screwball of sorts and I love off-the-wall humor and zany, wacky antics. I love ridiculousness and unusual things. I also am into some things that ordinary people seem to think is a bit strange or out of the ordinary. I'm proud of these things.
I make public posts about my ways of thinking on my facebook page. I'm a total crackpot, wacko, mondo bizarro geek.
I think that normal or ordinary people are funny and straightlaced and need to loosen up. What about you? Are you weird in any way?
Thanks for this!

I'm less weird and more of a recluse as I age.

I feel weird. Definitely different. I don’t look like a suburban type mom like I should. 3 quarters of my head is shaved to zero & what’s left is cobalt blue.
I wento a family Xmas party, was told to wear “Xmas colors” for a big family pic & I wore a gray sweater & black tights that had red skulls on them. Really it was the only red I had. And red boots.
I talked to one of my nieces boyfriends who said he wanted to get into pharmaceutical sales.....& I asked him if he was pursuing the cannabis area. God the look on his face! Geez. He took off.

I look at things very differently now, the angle most don’t like to see which I think is why most don’t talk to me. I am nice & try to look “pleasant.”
I wish I could be the weird & live the weird that’s inside my brain. Maybe if I was younger.....

I’ve always been considered odd. Or ‘our there’ wherever there is. My friends were stoners for the most part and one told me I was the craziest person he knew. And that I didn’t know how crazy I was. Good times.

I had a friend in college tell me that he didn’t know there were people in the world like me. I took it as a compliment.

I'm very weird, but in a good way.

And as my therapist has often said "normal people scare me"

If you’re not weird then you’re one of the boring people.

when people come up to me and say hi, I always answer with " meow", and I don't know anyone else in the world that does that

(I just think it's totally cool!). I don't really see it as weird

also I prefer autumn/ winter to summer. now that I do see as weird, as most people prefer warmer weather

the other one is.. while most people want a cat, or a dog, or a hamster as a pet, I'm totally obsessed with the idea of a budgie- again, I just think it would be awesome, and diffrent
(and I want to change my name legally to davy jones!)

it was because of my mental health to start with, but... why not?

women can be called davy, right? (I know they can actually, I've asked people about it)
Thanks for this!

I always thought I was weird but then I became a boring depressive. I want to give it up.

Weird was more fun. People always comment on stuff I am wearing so that didn't change. I think it is weird fashion in a good way...but not really trendy.

my other half says i'm weird all the time because i am very strict about following my own set of rules and i rarely deviate from them. it extends to other things in my life which drives him nuts, for example: once i find a meal that i like at a particular restaurant, i will never order anything else. every time i go back to that place i will only ever order that one meal.

Awh. They're kids...ignore them. If you were "normal" that would bother them. Hopefully one day they will tell you how lucky they were to have such a unique and individualistic parent. In the meantime, embrace your zany, love.

I am older and have very long hair. Whenever I think of cutting it really short my son says no, to let it get longer. Which is weird. Also weird is that my hair is still natural brown even though most other people my age have grey or white hair. I wear my hair up or in one braid or fishtail. It's a pain to wash. I guess I am following a tradition as my Irish grandmother had hair to her waist...and wore it in braids wound round her head. She never cut her hair.

The persona I present to the world is reservedly normal. The person I am "inside" secretly borders on the bizarre.

I am not really that weird but some people think I am crazy lol but in a good way. I do weird things like bursting in dance in public or walk or talk funny or act goofy. Some of my students think I am the funniest craziest teacher they ever had because I often act goofy. I lack shyness bone lol so in a way I guess I am weird.

Not many are weird to me because I don't pay that much attention to others. I am considered "weird" around here because I read and I don't socialize.

I don't think I'm considered weird but definitely considered out there because I don't follow societal norms.

Here's the definition, BTW:
adjective, weirder, weirdest.
1. involving or suggesting the supernatural; unearthly or uncanny:
a weird sound; weird lights.
2. fantastic; bizarre: a weird getup.
3. Archaic. concerned with or controlling fate or destiny.

So I think we are dealing with the second definition...I am definitely not considered bizarre. I think I am more strange than weird.
