Tom Baker, aka Dr. Who is my Spirit Animal.
He shaped my childhood by igniting my imagination. I even had the good fortune of meeting him when I was 12 at my first Dr. Who Convention. HE is hysterically funny. Start with Tom Baker's Dr. Who and work forward from there. All on YouTube. |

Do you remember the first episode that got you hooked as a kid? Or just in general to sci-fi type shows and movies?
Im 29, just for reference here, and before school every day there was a cartoon called the Magic School Bus. It was science and a little fantasy and I loved it. I wanted to shrink down and swim with plankton. Or zoom around mars. __________________ I run, it follows I speak, it swallows I am where it takes me. I love, it breaks me. |

I also watched Buck Rogers, Battlestar Galactica (the original), Space, Timeslip, Land of the Giants, Star Lost, and The Jetsons cartoon to name just a few. I'm in my late 40s so I think sci-fi has evolved a lot since the 1970s. |

I am going to weigh in on this conversation. I am a hardcore Star Trek fan because it was my escape when I was a kid, and it introduced me to a world where ANYONE can be ANYTHING. As much as I LOVE Star Wars (Carrie Fisher is my hero), the thing that held my love for Star Trek was the message of the series more than anything else. Also, my complete love affair with Commander Riker and his glorious beard MIGHT have had something to do with it too! Haha!
I never got into Doctor Who, although its not that I don't like it or anything its that its been on for SO LONG, I have no idea where the heck to start!! I definitely want to watch it and get into it, but gosh there is so much of it to watch! Any tips on where to start would be helpful to all you die hard Whoovians out there! Also the fact that I read that new Doctor is going to be a woman this time around is awesome! __________________ Tales of Love, Motivation, and An Interesting Journey - Please Subscribe to my Website on WordPress: Inspired Odyssey's Path to Wellness and Love |

Oh god. I LOVED IT!!
He always got himself in some compromsing position. My favorite is when Data made his daughter Lall, and Riker found himself hitting her in 10-Forward. Data: What are your intentions towards my daughter? Riker: Your daughter????!!!! HAHAHA. Also a special shoutout to Brent Spiner (Data) who turned 69 yesterday. Damn I can't believe he is that old! __________________ Tales of Love, Motivation, and An Interesting Journey - Please Subscribe to my Website on WordPress: Inspired Odyssey's Path to Wellness and Love |

There was a crystalline entity episode where he was busy chatting it up with a hot blonde and they just made plans to go out that night but the entity shows up and the look on his face was priceless.
Correction: she was a brunette. My apologies. He had so many women, to be fair. __________________ I run, it follows I speak, it swallows I am where it takes me. I love, it breaks me. |

Ahahaha! Classic Riker! I nearly spitaked my drink when I zoomed in the GIF to see what was written on the screen.
Yes, Riker is a perv in every episode he's in, always hitting on the ladies of any species. Eww. You'd have thought Deanna Troy would have stayed far away since she could read Riker's mind. Unless she was a dirty bird herself so maybe she liked bad boys like Riker. |

Are there any plans for a football party today? Or is that infinitely improbable?
Because I love to cook and will happily do a bit'o'snack catering if a party is do-able. I am thinking lots of fish dishes. And, of course, everyone gets a towel. P.S.- Always enjoyed Star Trek for the same reasons already mentioned. BIG fan of SciFi fiction, the classics (Anthony, Asimov, Bradbury, A.C. Clarke). Am also considering starting a religion inspired by Douglas Adams' Books, which will naturally involve a circuitous, absurd, and inscrutable philosophy, but one which will be exceedingly tolerant and welcoming. |

lol I'm not a fan of football, but feel free to throw the party. I'll hand out the drinks. One glass of Rigellian Tongue-Rasp coming up.
I got into Star Wars for the background details. I used to loved doing ortho projections of the cross-sections books and made floor plans for some of their ships. I read the encyclopedias, but not the novels. lol I loved how everything integrated in the EU--even the stupid stuff. The OCPD in me loved the orderliness of it all. Stephen Donaldson actually wrote a great sci fi series, too. The Gap Series is really cool. And should we just start calling you Trillian, now? |

Is your replicator on the fritz? This tea I ordered is only partially materialized. Tastes like Ferengi vomit.

Not a football fan either, but I will help myself to all the wonderful snackies!!!
And oh god, I am such a big Douglas Adams fan its unreal, that religion sounds really cool! Maybe it could be based on "Good Omens?" I loved that book! __________________ Tales of Love, Motivation, and An Interesting Journey - Please Subscribe to my Website on WordPress: Inspired Odyssey's Path to Wellness and Love |
