So the wonderful, ever so thoughtful keytones has a thread involving Happy Memories and it sparked the idea for this thread. My happy memory that I posted on that thread was an experience I had when I heard a certain song one night, and it went like this:

I was just coming home from dinner on a FREEZING night, and I got in my car and turned on the radio, when out of absolutely nowhere, "Another Night" by the Real McCoy came on the air. It was totally out of character for that radio station to play that 90s dance throwback, but damn! I so enjoyed it!

I had a vivid memory of being in high school in my Aerobics class. "Another Night" by the Real McCoy was the song our teacher used to make us practice our dance routine to put on a show for the school. For MONTHS, we were learning moves, laughing, playing, bonding, and listening to that EXACT song every day, over and over again.

I LIVED and breathed that song for that entire school year, and every time I hear it now, I just think about all the girls in my aerobics class, just bonding, and having so much FUN like real life sisters.

Suffice to say I cried tears of joy, and laughed to myself like a fool while the song played the other night, and was so busy tapping my foot and moving my arms and hands, I didn't even think about the cold winter night at all.

Music is so unbelievable sometimes.

Certain songs can spark a memory, (sad or happy) in us, and for me everytime I experience a moment like this, it brings tears to my eyes.

What's your experience?

I had a memory spark a song.

Well maybe not a memory. I had been trying to figure out the name of a song for weeks. I only knew one word though.

One night I was luicd dreaming, and when I woke up I could remember the entire chorus.

But a lot of Green Day songs remind me of Jr. High. Boulevard Of Broken Dreams and Wake Me Up When September ends to be specific

Also whenever I hear the song Walking On Broken Glass, I practically go back to summer of 2003. It’s the most nostalgic song ever for me.

I remember, when I was little, dreaming that I was playing ‘Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head’ on the piano in a vivid dream. I woke up and realized I had memorized the piece completely! I went to the piano and played it without the sheet music. It was true!

I tried to tell my mom, but she didn’t understand the significance of me having memorized a whole song that was on the radio!! It seemed so big and long!
Thanks for this!

Songs seem to be better at expressing my feelings than I am!
