The Skeezyks is back! A while back I destroyed my operating system trying to reinstall Windows 10 when the recent Creator's Update would not download. This evening is my first time back on-line. I'm now working on figuring out my new OS since I lost everything in the process of getting a clean install of Windows 10. Thankfully the basics all seem to be here. Thanks to everyone who left messages on my Profile Page. And best wishes to all.

Welcome back. I wondered when I hadn't seen you around. Glad you got back on line, and good luck with figuring out all your technical stuff.

Oh man. I had no idea. It always sucks when you loose your downloads and updates to a hard drive crash.
I lost a romhack that way once and it was almost complete and ready for beta testing. I was crushed. All that work destroyed.
Welcome back, bro.

I hope you didn't lose too many datas.

Neverware
(a link to a wikipedia page)

If anyone has old laptops laying around, this is something I highly recommend. It needs 16GB+ USB stick for the install, that's the only thing I don't like about it. Supposedly, you can install this alongside your existing Windows system, it was just amazing to see this OS waking up for the first time on my spare laptop.

Judging from the reply posts, you may have been away quite a while? Were you okay while you were away without your computer? I think you need to work on your pc emergency strategy...

Windows OS is complicated, simplify, simplify and simplify. That's not a Buddhist OS, I say. Seriously though, preparing a spare OS on a separate drive is not a bad idea. Chrome OS has totally Zen Material Design, even more so than Windows 10.

Thanks so much everyone! There're both good & not-so-good outcomes resulting from this experience. The not-so-good is that, although I now have a clean install of Windows 10 on my computer, I just noticed that I once again have that pesky creator's update trying to install over-&-over again. So I'm right back where I started from to begin with!

The good outcome is that I've now connected with a local computer repair place that should be able to help me keep my old jalopy of a computer up-&-running. So that's a plus since I really know almost nothing about computers in general & mine in particular other than how to operate it when it's running smoothly.
