...that (a lot of/some) people don’t know about you?
I know every diet hack and at one point lost 120 pounds. People like to look at my before/after pics. I’ve gained a bit more than half of it back (psych meds are hard to overcome that way, but I’m working on it). My elderly former Japanese neighbor was saying goodbye to me before going back to Japan to live, and she thought I was my daughter. She didn’t recognize me from the weight loss (I had a traveling job when I lost the first half of the weight where she never saw me). How about you? |

I rarely talk. only when absolutely necessary. But I make up for it by my actions. Therefore I am the perfect example of “actions speak louder then words.”

No one aside from people on this forum knows that I miss being young, thin, and sexy so I could have really hot affairs...the manic kind when you're never apart from each other, the sexual energy is palpable, you are each others' bodies...that first 6 months of WOW.
Not that I mind being older, because there are some great things about it. But I feel somewhat bitter about how I am perceived now, at age 55. And of course, being on meds has a major effect...weight gain, sluggishness. |

Most people other than my close friends, don't know that I'm a harpist. I don't play professionally, but I play for my own pleasure and really enjoy it.

Great thread Keytones!
Hmmm, there are a number of things people, including family, don't know about me. Not even my spouses knew about the sexual trauma and bullying I encountered both in and out of the military. I hid it all and years later I am paying for it emotionally. I have also kept mum about the dangerous activities I undertook during a lengthy period of mania. These were things like going to the bar every night to mountainclimbing and ocean kayaking by myself without telling anyone where I was and what I was doing. |

Hmm.... great thread! I lived in my tent in Alaska for three months once, living on a mountainside where black bears lived above.

I repelled 500 ft into a cave in Calif & splunked through the caverns at the bottom through some places no bigger than I could squeeze through & some above my head I had to lift myself up to get through.
Skiied for 20 years at our vacation condo in Jackson Hole Wyo & spent summer backpacking into the sierra's & one long back oack trip into the Tetons in Wyo. Most know this but I got my computer science & accounting degree in 1978, 10 months after my daughter was born. I started my computer engineering career immediately having 3 good job offers before graduation. I was one of the only women working in the computer engineering field when I began. My technical skills & knowledge stuck even after the career ended & I am now enjoying living on my farm I bought 11 years ago surrounded by nature. A HUGE contrast to living un Los Angeles all my life. Life is an adventure to be enjoyed |

There's so many things I wish I could share with people... But you said interesting things, so there's only one I can think of that might qualify.
I like paranormal things, particularly those of the spiritual nature. I don't have a problem telling people about this really, but it's hard to find people of a like mind. I either find people have no tolerance for the discussion or are extremely cemented in the fact that every single paranormal thing is legit... Both sides are frustrating to talk to.

I speak three languages. I guess it’s not that interesting. Lol
I have no cartlage inside my nose, nothing divides it. It’s entirely hollow inside. I was born this way. Obviously it’s no different from outside, in fact I have rather classic good looking nose, straight etc. It’s quite weird I guess. When I was little I thought everyone’s nose is this way |

I guess mine is that I'm not afraid of spiders, and I'm not afraid of snakes.
people always find that one weird- I suppose because those animals scare so many people. |

I want a tattoo of a pirate on my arm.
I always tell people I want a snake, or a heart, to avoid the embarrassment, but what I really want is a tattoo of a pirate goes back to a melt down I had as a kid |

A lot of people don't know I had anorexia in college. It was so bad, I should have been hospitalized, my weight was below 80 lb., and I'm 5'5". I somehow got over it on my own, but that is a rarity, and the thoughts never completely go away.
I graduated valedictorian of my high school class. I graduated university summa cum laude, with straight A's, except one B in Physics II (hated physics). I majored in Microbiology & had better grades than lots of pre-med students. I have an M.S. in Cell & Molecular biology and have published a several scientific articles in science journals, one a first-author publication. I was an accidental shooting victim. I went to grad school & lived in a bad part of town. One night when I was sleeping, a guy fired a gun from the parking lot through my glass balcony door, shattering it, the bullet wedging in a book in a bookcase across the living room. If I'd been in the living room, I would have surely been shot. The police turned my life upside down, especially since they noticed psych med. bottles sitting out. I never had any visitors over, and I didn't expect to be involved in a police investigation. They went on about old boyfriends, even accused me of shooting out the door myself. Later, they came back and told me I should "relax", they caught the guy ,and he was aiming for the apartment below mine, which belonged to his girlfriend or ex, and she was out of town at the time. It didn't really make me feel better, to be living upstairs from a girl with a boyfriend like that.

I thought of another interesting thing. I lived through change of political regime. It was obviously a big deal but somehow everything is in a fog. When people ask me details I don’t remember anything. And I was an adult. I guess it happened fast and I was busy with mundane everyday tasks.
Another interesting one I used to own huge chunk of Berlin Wall that I picked up from the ground when the wall was coming down and pieces were falling everywhere. I took a big one like a small brick size lol Unfortunately in the process of moving it got lost. Kind of cool thing to have. It’s gone though |

I have insight in schizophrenia. With all my mental powers I can manage to suppress a symptom or two outside. And while posting over forums, there's a massive advantage of the editor where I can rearrange sentences and words and make my speech appear less disorganized. Although it doesn't always work. Kind of like Doctor Strange, he suffers whenever he casts a spell.

I am scared to death of people falling asleep, and will run a mile if I see it happen.
keep thinking they are unconcious or dying, and it scares the hell out of me. sometimes I will grab the person and shake them to get a response |

I met my husband through online dating when it was at its very start. And I mean very, very start. I almost deleted his message to me, and then I read it again a few weeks later and decided he sounded interesting (I'd already had several bad dates from that site). Once we got serious, I lied and told my mom I met him at a bookstore because I knew she'd freak out if she found out I met him through online dating. Later, I came clean with her, after she got to know him and once we became engaged.
