I noticed that many guys will wear boxers underneath their swim trunks when they go swimming. Why is that?

It must be a new thing. Us old school guys don’t do it... or if some do ! I don’t know about it.

Are you sure those are swim trunks and not basketball shorts?

After being a Brooks Brothers boxer freak for decades I began wearing Under Armour compression boxers 5-6 years ago.

I believe that if I was able to swim now and if I wore unique shorts — rather than a ‘swimsuit’ — that I would wear compression boxers, as well. I like to protect my junk. Even now.
