I remember telling a women in her late 30’s early 40’s that Mama Cass did not choke on a ham sandwich. She got mad at me and said “yeah? Then what did she die from?”

Some people will believe anything.

oh.. I know so many.

I know one woman who will believe if you tell her you're somewhere else, you are actually their

like you'd be in england and say to her... hey, we're on holiday in benidorm- and she'll be like really?. we are?. must go and get my suit case, and will act like she's in benidorm- even though we're sitting in england in the rain

and I know someone else who will believe absolutely anything you tell her

like..

hey, did you know the capital of france is actually F?

her: and all these years people have been telling me it's parris. ****ing liars

I hate to bring up politics but Trumpers are the epitome of this.

With that said, I know a woman who is so naive and lacking in common sense that she is constantly in trouble. Shopping is an example. She is always spending money then acts bewildered when she has nothing left for food and rent. She will look at you quizzically when you mention it to her and replies with a statment that she has every right to shop. And on the matter of rent. It never occurred to her she was responsible for it when she split with her spouse. She never knew there were such things as utilities either. In her whole life she has never left the city she resides in. The earth is flat because she read that; etc. UFOs exist because she watches "Ancient Aliens" - because it is on TV it must be true. Poor poor woman.

Heh, I was actually going to say the same thing. Before he was elected I got into some fierce debates with "friends" who refused to accept that he was lying when I showed them facts because anything that didn't agree with him was "fake news" like it still is, regardless of what source it was from - even from sites that usually proclaimed his awesomeness. I gave up on trying to talk to them after a while and just distance myself from them.

But really, anyone who is hardcore for one side or another can be just as unreasonable, it's just reached an insane level lately with Trump.

I’m not a victim of urban legends, alternative facts, or conspiracy theories, and I’m skeptical and suspicious of anything that reeks of the fantastic, but...

...my Medicaid case manager (an RN) believes anything that she can twist to fit her worldview that most people are so bad that they’re out to destroy her way of life. She regales me with tales of QAnon and gets angry when I laugh off her stories that lack anything verifiable.

So, yeah, she’s the most gullible person that I know.

I love her to death, though, and we are friends with some benefits.

Oh, dear!

I know that you don’t cohabit, I think?

Mean, cruel me — I’d be inclined to offer my spouse the most outrageous tales if only too find the depth of (her) gullibility.

But I’d be saddened to find others taking advantage of my spouse’s gullibility. I guess that’s what would scare me.

Good, if unusual, question!

Well it was reported in Rolling Stone magazine so who are we not to believe? Thanks for clearing that up. Apparently many people around the world still believe that. I was one of them.

Most gullible person i know is me.

I was thinking after posting this thread, that I shouldn’t be so hard on other people. For almost 12 years my main Aspergers interest was American folklore and I was mainly focusing on urban legends.

So it seems totally ridiculous to me that people would believe this stuff, but not to everyone else.

I would say me. I trust people easily and I'll buy a lot of garbage before I clue in.

I equate gullible with generally trusting and I equate that with generally honest people.

I am really enjoying this thread!

My sister-in-law spends all day reading and searching conspiracy theories (ie. 911 and school mass shootings). She has become a very hate filled woman whose mental stability I question and spews pretty far out hateful messages. She believes all this verbatim. She has been kicked off FB numerous times. i am concerned.
