In junior high we had to write am essay about what we loved. I wrote mine about my then crush. I was teased relentlessly but guess what? Highest mark in the class! Lol
Tell me about something you love. Person, object, place, dream. Anything goes. |

I LOVE game of thrones. Everything to do with it. My favorite characters are Tyrion and Jaime (from the books).
Tyrion makes me laugh. Arya tugs at my heart. Sansa makes me proud. Cersei makes me furious. Jon inspires me. I would talk about GOT for hours if anyone would listen. I even have a hand made book holder. |

Uh oh... it's that 4 letter word...
An answer here could range from the profound, to the whimsical & still be a legitimate answer. In the movies, it's a many-splendored thing. In my stomach, it's Chinese food. In my heart & mind, it's that which can both make me feel complete, yet leave me utterly inspired to become something more in unison. But these are abstract generalities - for something more specific... I'll choose my dreams. Specifically, my dreams where I can freely fly without impediment or restriction. And extra especially those dreams that are lucid - where I'm consciously free to do whatever my imagination can concoct... ps: Possession of GOT green fire might be kinda fun, too... ![]() |

I love my kitties. They purr and they let me talk to them without judging me (for the most part, sometimes even they get up and leave if I talk too much, lul). Rawrz gives lots of kisses and some cuddles, Nom prefers to just stay next to the hooman as much as he can while he rarely gives kisses. They're silly and make me laugh. x3
I love my mum. I used to hate her when I was younger though. She didn't really know how to cope with me I think and so treated me poorly. It caused us a lot of issues. We're past them and are now close. She's really the only person I have IRL that I feel any sort of bond with. I love my friend. I feel really lucky to have him. So many people don't have a good friend that they can share so much with, and before now there's only been a couple other people who I could say were close to his level, but one left a long time ago and the other is still mad at me. He surpasses them though. He's more patient, we have more in common, and is willing to work with me when I mess up instead of holding it against me. He also lets me into his life more than most have and I get to help him in some ways, so it doesn't feel one sided.

I love writing, even as I lack any talent. I love London. My last trip was in 2004 and though I loathed the skyscrapers (ooo... and the gigantic ‘London Eye’ Ferris wheel!) I was comforted to find that my most beloved institutions remained. I love the taste of juniper in good gin. (And I’m suspicious of unadulterated Scotch consumers — I believe that the preponderance of two-finger Scotch drinkers portrayed by alpha-males in media is nothing more than a stereotype.) I love the memories of my loves and lovers. The giddiness of love blooming, the aphrodisia of love consummated. I love Cambridge. The town and the University. Both as bucolic as any township or university can be. Nothing citified or pretentious there. I love La Jolla, California. I love my red KitchenAid kettle. It’s aesthetically gorgeous. It’s hefty. I love the recurring dream that I have of walking around immediate-war-torn Berlin wearing a a smart Homburg and fine woolen garments. I love Berlin. I actually love, too, the German people. They’re so mindful of others, so very generous and sensible. The greatest mysteries, to me, is that they, 1) ever followed a madman and, 2) how quickly they developed into such caring peoples after WWII. I love my Mont Blanc pens. I shouldn’t, as I can no longer write, but still... I love the lusty flora and fauna of the northern West Coast. Oregon (for you LL), in particular. I love each and every place that I’ve called ‘home.’ I love each and every place that I’ve visited, even (especially) Antarctica (where the local cuisine was lacking!). I love hot Thai food in Thailand. Vietnamese food in Vietnam. Korean food in South Korea. Tiny cups of espresso in Italy. All native cuisines in their respective locales, I suppose. I love freshly-roasted and freshly-ground dark Sumatra Mandheling coffee. I love leftists because they represent the high ideals of humanism over the despair and despondency of mankind. I love, wistfully, I guess, life; as horrible as it’s been at times. I was conceived in abandon and fully intend to end in as much abandon as I can muster. I amaze myself at all of the people, objects, places and dreams that I’ve come to love again. I love this website and the deep attachments that I feel towards a handful of friends. For a long while I regretted that these friends were ‘only’ digital, not ‘real life’ friends. But I’ve come ‘round to realizing that I love, and need, both.
Possible trigger:
The loves that loves to love, the loves that love to love... I love this thread. *** And I will stroll the merry way And jump the hedges first And I will drink the clear Clean water for to quench my thirst And I shall watch the ferry-boats And they'll get high On a bluer ocean Against tomorrow's sky And I will never grow so old again ***

I love my will to become a doctor. I love my will to help people. I love medicine, and although I know it's not like how they show on TVs, I am ready to trade anything I have or will ever have to get to be a doctor. I always loved the sciences which require little math. I love learning about pathology of the human body. I want to help people who are in pain like me. I love my medical career more than anything. Just the sheer thought of getting into med school is making my heart go "WWWOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH" now.

Oh, a couple of other things:
I love women who, like myself, have ‘Morton’s Toe,’ having a second toe longer than the ‘big’ toe. Early in life I thought it freakish but in the fourth grade (maybe third) I found a community of fellow freaks and felt some exuberance in taking lovers from that communal pool. I don’t have a foot-fetish — just a preference for being barefoot — and a comfort amongst my lovely freaks. (Even now, lacking legs, thus feet, I still love women with this queer mutation.) I’m always surprised to find that celebrities with this disorder love to photograph and post the photos of their feet. On a similar note: I love Katy Perry (circa 2010 C.E.): She isn’t my ‘type,’ at all, and I find some of her songs disparaging towards women (Teenage Dream — ‘you think I’m funny when I tell the punchline wrong’ — um, no; some of us don’t find coy obtuseness attractive) but she posts ridiculously high numbers of photos of her Morton-toed feet (almost fetishizing them) and she has long been the female force to be reckoned with in the music industry for some time. I probably admire her business acumen more than I love her? I’m not sure why I find her attractive, really. I love my bonavita electric coffee machine. Six-to-ten-months ago, I would have said my Chemex coffee gadgets, but I’m no longer able to use them. The bonavita is a sort-of electronic version of the Chemex and makes damned fine coffee. I love both high-falutin’ British black teas (Twining’s Earl Grey) and ancient hippyish Celestial Seasonings herbals. I love a good and worthy challenge. This morning I was able to grab one pound of coffee beans from an upper kitchen shelf, something far my capabilities yesterday. Eh, I have a string of bad days followed by a good day. I love the wicked abandon that I’ve found in living. I miss the wicked abandon that I felt at the touch of a woman. I love/hate seasons. In SoCal we didn’t have seasons and I was taken in by the changes when we moved to the East Coast. Now I hate the bitterly cold winters which are death to large gatherings outdoors. I love my Roman Catholicism cultural heritage, although I’m now a strident atheist. PRACTICING CATHOLICS SHOULD NOT PUSH THE TRIGGER BUTTON.
Possible trigger:
I love a simple chocolate cake. I love self-psychoanalysizing my dreams. I love bastardizing words, ever-creating new words from the old and dreary. I love, in some queer way, being an outlier among outliers here. I secretly love the rapport that I have with my fellow mavericks. I love the trust that I give and the trust given amongst friends here and in ‘real life.’ I no longer differentiate between the two. There is just too much to love. I love that.

I’ll tell you a secret: of all my doctors I’ve only one who I believe actually gives a tinker’s damn about me and I love him to pieces. He listens and explains, qualities that even my specialist’s nurses lack. He’s still practicing at 76 and looks as if he could be my firstborn son. He’s a good and honest man. I’ve read of your passion for helping others and I’ve two wishes for you: That you have a successful matriculation (med school isn’t as tough as portrayed on television but residency can be brutal) and that you keep your kindness bloody alive during your career. Best of luck.

I love nature. I've stood precariously close to the edge of the grand canyon. Done a helicopter tour over the rocky mountains. Swam with octopus in Mexico. Taken a boat under Niagra Falls. Sweat my arse off in the Mojave desert. Seen whales off Vancouver Island.
I camp, fish, climb trees, catch snakes and appreciate pure silence. |

I love my boogie board. Riding the waves is fun, but it’s been so damn helpful from keeping me from drowning. I had two incidents today in a dangerous lake but because of the board, I was able to keep calm and not panic.

I love learning something new - thanks to amicus, I now know that I apparently possess Morton (or Egyptian, which sounds posher) toes. That there were such defined groupings to cover variations in metatarsal bone length was something of which I'd been completely unaware.

I love my friend's voice. He's French and that accent with his voice tone is delicious. I got to hear him French it up today too and it's proof that he could say just about anything and I would still be into it because typically I don't like the French language. He doesn't use push-to-talk, so whenever his parents would come in while we were playing and bother him (was 3 different times) I'd hear them talk and I didn't like their voices but did like his. The accent proves a bit difficult sometimes since he's still learning English and speaking it properly, but overall it's understandable and more so than when we first met.

I love perfumes. I didn't use to... I came to them very late in life. Maybe it's more accurate to say that I love things that smell good!
I love that I can buy tiny little samples, which makes it affordable to try out perfumes that I'd never be able to buy a full bottle of. I love that there's so much variety. I love that I can wear quiet, calming scents and with just a single spray, have something that I can smell all day, but that doesn't affect anyone else (I wear one spray under my clothes, I've checked, you wouldn't be able to smell it unless you were way too close to me!) I love the yumminess of vanilla and chocolate scents and the freshness of spring flowers. I love fancy perfumes and natural perfumes and simple cheapies. I love that there are people out there that spend their time and energy figuring out how to put these things together, so that the smell lasts all day. I love learning about the different notes that go into them, how they blend, and what the heck "coumarin" is. It's fun. |

What’s wrong with just liking something? Why do we always have to bring the other word into it? Just kidding. If we express or even know love, then we wouldn’t even have a kindred of heart for people or any kind of hobby or food, etc. Here’s a list of what I love:
i. My past. I'm content with it - but not my present. Well, I'm more than content with it because I said I loved it. ii. God and all those other people or odd things found in Christianity or Christian Theology, especially St. Joan of Arc. iii. The Divine Comedy by Dante. That piece of work is like J.Lo.'s butt: exquisite. iv. Elephants because they express emotions and even cry when one of their herd dies. Have fun with this thread because I think it's cool. ![]() |

I loved the fast-roiling rivers that I kayaked. I loved the lushness of dense, wet forests. I loved diving atop hundreds of sea turtles and their generosity in allowing me to touch them. I loved snakes, too, and loved my fellow snake lovers. I loved the sounds of unknown creatures outside of tents during the night. I loved the destruction of my tent by a bewildered bull moose at daybreak, in Maine. I loved the silence of fresh snowfalls. I loved solitary trips into wilderness. I loved the whole of nature on this tiny, insignificant planet that seems so ridiculously vast and unknowable. I can’t think of anything in nature that I didn’t love.
