Do you make the rounds of craft and Christmas markets?

Do you make your own?

Do you gift handmade art and crafts?

How well has doing so been received?

I in fact do visit the bigger markets that pop up this time of year. I make my own art for the purpose of gift-giving too (I am a visual artist). But I am very selective when it comes to handing out these handmade gifts. There are some I know who unfortunately wouldn't appreciate such things. Sad. I am soon to be on a Christmas market themed holiday in Germany and Austria where traditions are taken quite seriously. The plan is to pick up gifts while there. Again, I just hope they are appreciate.

My own cherished handmade holiday item is a pickle ornament. Yes sounds quite odd. Perhaps a few of you out there understand the significance of these, haha.

I sure do. I painted a bunch of Christmas ornaments one year & took them to church & let everyone pick the ornament they wanted. I had no idea that everyone would like my painted ornaments so much.

In my art groups giving our art work or craft we make is part of our Christmas tradition.

I have also done art work for others who gave them as gifts. They had actually paid me to make these gifts.

I wish I had more time to paint & do crafts....maybe some day.

You can get slivers from some of those Christmas market gifts (nutcrackers & such). You can't be too careful! Me? I'm getting my nieces & nephews the gift that keeps on giving: "Bag of Broken Glass."
Thanks for this!

I give my knitted items to friends for gifts. They seem to quite like them. Or maybe they're just being polite. But I am a good knitter.

This has been so nice to hear.

This year I am gifting sets of coasters I made from 'pain pours' over tiles. This in addition to whatever crafts that call out to me while in Europe. I always have fun and really enjoy gifting art over material items. The last thing someone is going ti get from me is something electronic. I picked up a few Mechano sets I discovered for some of the step grand children. I would rather see them playing constructively than a video game. In a way this is encouraging creativity of their own. Again, a gift of 'art'.
