I went for my annual eye exam today, in part because I badly need new glasses.

My optometrist informed me I now need bifocals. I'm not psychologically ready for bifocals.

And as well my eyes are really dry so I have to put prescription drops in them every 3 hours, and put a gel on my eyes, before I go to bed.

Not looking forward to this.

splitimage I still haven't adjusted to my own pair of bifocals no matter how much everyone tells me to keep trying. I've been trying for 10months. My aunt suggested they weren't placed low enough for me.

I had no trouble with bifocals after just a day or two. If you feel old, then imagine being told new glasses won't help because of developing cataracts, like me. You're a normal person, moving on to the next milestone in your life! Find some pretty frames and join the club. Okay? You'll be fine, dear friend.

I just went and I needed bifocals too. I recommend getting the ones with no lines. Im only 42. So I understand.

I want to add that dry eyes are sometimes created or made worse by all the time we spend looking at computer screens.

((((splitimage)))) I don't think needing different glasses makes you old. You can choose beautiful glasses Hugs!

Sorry about your eye troubles. Look on the bright side, now you can post in the "You know you're getting old when..." thread.
