For the last 8 years i have stayed at home on new year's eve. Not that i am a boring middel age guy or anything. Well ok i am a boring middel age guy. [42] truth be told i was never one for a sing a long or dancing. Just one of those who likes a good movie with peace and quiet. Here's a good luck wave to anyone heading on on the night. Keep safe everyone.

We'll probably stay home. Going into Boston is always an option for either the earlier family friendly version or the official midnight experience. They do have ice sculptures on the Common, but...but...but...it's one of those things that the question is posed...are any of the kids interested to brave crowds and weather conditions. Plus parking and crowds on the T.
Soooo....more than likely put on the specials on TV and have a quiet night at home. My neighbors usually light off some fireworks anyways so it gets a little festive around here for that.

I have New Year’s Eve off from work. I’ll probably just stay home all day. I’m working early New Years Day. So I can’t stay up until midnight. However, I get paid time and a half so I am not unhappy at all.

In my experience, the new year has a way of showing up whether I'm awake to greet it or not. So I'll no doubt sleep the new year in.

Boyfriend can't travel. At home physical rehab. Lives 50 miles from me. Could travel but concerned getting home NYE. A friend of my dad presents a R&R NYE. Maybe I'll go there NYE.

Fondu! I haven't had fondu in decades. I'll bring some cheese fondu and bread cubes, broccoli and minni carrots. What else can we dip?

This old fart is likely to be in bed by 9PM that night. Y'all will have to party on without me.

side story -

I used to work pizza delivery. Absolutely HATED working New Year's Eve because of drunk drivers on the road and people out in public acting like ejits. Add to that there was always some fool who ordered trying to have a pizza delivered right at midnight. Never saw the thrill in that myself. It also meant being on the road with all the drunks leaving parties after midnight.

If I feel up to it, my ballroom dance group is having a dance party. Not much into partying right now though.

I'll bring chocolate fondue and we can dip fruit.

IRL, hubby and I plan on going out to eat and then watch the festivities on TV until the ball drops.

I received a hot chocolate kit from my cousin to flavor it. We can all go into a chocolate coma it'll be great!

I'm definitely home. Posed the idea of First Night festivities to the kids which was met with a groan and nose up..

I picked up some party hats and those little noise makers along with a bottle of candy in the shape of a Champaign bottle.

I may or may not pick up a little bit of adult beverage for myself-completely up in the air and meh about the notion on that idea. I have some ingredients for pizza, might need some chips and dip if I go in that direction.

Chili, I'm having chili. Been watching the dr who marathon on American BBC. Got to see one episode of the ninth doctor....was hoping to see the one with the games show but nope. Hmm, could run to town for champagne but buh humbug I'll toast the new year with cranberry juice!

So who's up for a game?
