anyone got stories of products that didn't arive, were damaged, or were not what was advertised?
i've had a games console not delivered from ebay (just an empty box), a cd turn up covered in cola, an 8 cd country and western set with only 3 disks in it, a prize I won (men in black dvd collection) that was never sent, and a computer game that was meant for a console I didn't own to name a few. do you have any? |

I bought a backpack that was not what I had thought it was. The company was really nice and refunded me the money, and let me keep the backpack for free.
I ordered some shoes that never arrived. It turned out the seller was a scammer. I got my money back after filing a claim. One time I ordered a piece of clothing and, I just got a thin piece of black fabric. I ordered a coloring book that was advertised as new that was already colored in.

I don't have product horror stories. I don't use sites that even seem iffy. Only issue I have had over the years is the location of the apartments I live in. For some reason they do not come up on maps without putting in the right combination of info. So packages somehow end up in another state then mysteriously appear at my door the next day or two.

I have a funny product horror story. I bought all 4 seasons of Metalocalypse, all from different sellers. The first season was censored, like the show. The second season, however, was not censored, and I didn't realize that until a main character flashed his penis, uncensored in all it's animated glory. It was also that season where an old woman's lady parts were flashed uncensored which required eye bleach. The lack of censorship in itself didn't bother me per se, but it definitely took me by surprise considering the box didn't indicate that it was uncensored!

I ordered a wooden tray with adjustible legs for sitting with a laptop, but the wood as advertised wasn't oak, but bass wood and also, very light in colour. Sending it back would have cost far more than the product's original cost, so instead I kept it, feeling disgruntled.
However, not to be disappointed, I applied a darker stain to the wooden tray, using a feather to make some wood grain. After the wood dried, I waxed it with beeswax polish. It looks lovelier now than when first bought. In fact it looks more expensive. I suppose I could have contacted the seller and berated them for incorrect product description, but it would have been a big hassle because I dislike confrontation. |

It wasn’t exactly a horror story, more like false advertising. I bought one of those mermaid blanket tails but an adult size. It was a brand name too. The box said fits most adults. At the time I was 160 pounds. I am a 5’4 female. So not tall at all. It barely fit me. So I doubt it really could fit most adults.
