It is cold here.. not Chicago cold but 10 degrees during the day and 0 at night. So today I arrived at the train station and the train was pulling in. I had to run for it.

I *thought* I turned off the lights but I could not tell if I had. Even as we were pulling away... I couldn't see my car or remember if I had. But I thought my car had this auto off system where your lights go off when you turn the car off. At work I searched for it but could not confirm that my car had that.

If I came back to my car at the end of the day and my battery was dead I would be in trouble. There is not much around the parking lot. Plus I have no one to pick me up and there doesn't seem to be a lot of taxi's around anymore.

The good news. I had turned them off and my car started right up - but it definitely made me hyperaware at how much it sucks to be by yourself.

I am grateful though that I didn't have to through a big problem.

I will be more careful in the future and will work on a plan for such a contingency.
Hugs from:

Thanks for this!
