I love picking out unique items. I get complemented and asked all the time where I bought what I'm wearing. When I answer them, they always seem to be slightly discouraged when they realize they can't drive somewhere and buy another one right off the rack.

I had to cut out thrift shopping unfortunately. I was spending an awful lot of money at Savers. It was getting to be a problem. I was going almost daily and spending $10-$50 each time. Then my financial situation changed this year and something had to go. Now I have money mainly for groceries and prescriptions, but I still have money to occasionally go out to eat and get fast food. Which is what I also liked doing besides thrift store shopping.
But today at Kohl’s I was able to buy 2 shirts together on clearance and with coupons for $5. So I’m still getting some bargains. __________________ Ridin' with Biden |

I love going to thrift stores also. I agree that it is the treasure hunt and retail therapy all rolled into one. A lot of people will go to a bar after work if it's been a tough day. I'll go to a thrift store. Nice dopamine buzz and I don't need a designated driver. My best score was a vintage knit Feragamo skirt for $2.95. I go the ARC stores mostly. Tuesdays are senior half price days so there is some benefit to being over 55. If I start accumulating too much stuff, I just donate it back.

Boy am I glad that thrifting is in style! I have three kids and started thrifting because we were poor. Now I buy near everything from Goodwill. Why contribute to waste buying new when I can enjoy someone's purchase and help a charity? My two ultimate scores:
Brand new with tags Wilson leather jacket .99$ at the salvation army. Jcrew leather cow' hide suede midlength coat for 10$ I looked up the retail price and it was 199$. All it needed was a button. __________________ "I carried a watermelon?" President of the no F's given society. |

I used to donate and buy from our small town thrift store until I saw a friend of mine wearing one of my old sweater vests. I didn't say anything but it was a little weird. Another time I was at my kids' school talking to two teachers. Teacher #1 commented on my U of Wisconsin sweatshirt and asked if I went to school there because she had too. I said no, I got it at the thrift store. Teacher #1 turned to teacher #2 and said "is that the sweatshirt I gave you?". Teacher #2 turned bright red and was horribly embarrassed. Now I shop at the big stores down in town.

I love thrift shopping too. There is a really cool thrift store near me . It's divided into several stores on both sides of the street. Clothing, handbags, hats, scarves, tops, sweaterfs, skirts, pants, male and female cloothes, nickknacks, costume jewelry, kitchen , home gadgets and much more. I'br bought several groovy LL Bean sweaters there. There's a thrift that when you shop you support AIDS research and people with the disease Quality products at good prices too.

I started thrift shopping again but I’m taking it easy this time.
Today I found a pair of black ugg boots. They were $5.50 but I had a coupon so I payed $3.50 for them. I have no idea if they are real or not, But they are in really good condition. __________________ Ridin' with Biden |

There's special markings on the tags to denote authenticity but not wholly noticeable from any amount of distance.
Good deal, regardless on updating pieces of your wardrobe. |

I get excited when I find needlepoint canvases because they are very expensive when new. I have more than I'll ever finish in a lifetime, but they don't take up much room.

Today, I got a fully working Sony Remote Commander RM-AV3000 for $3. I'm a huge remote control nerd and have about a dozen rare ones in my collection. This thing is massive! 2.5 times the size of an oem Vizio remote and almost bigger than my fingers all stretched out. Weighs almost two pounds with batteries. It's been a dream to get my hands on one of these hybrid touch screen remotes forever and now it's mine!

We have a good sized thrift store in our town called Skills. They accept donated items and sell them at low prices to support their developmentally challenged clients. I don't remember the organization name but I did apply at the L.C. Dill Center one time for work. My boyfriend and I shop there all the time!! They sell vhs tapes for .50 and yes my player still works!! Dvds for a buck. I have a thing for boxes and found a really cool, heavy soap stone box, hand carved, for 2 bucks. They carry a bit of everything and we stop in frequently to see what new finds we can come home with. On a side note, my landlord runs an antique store downstairs from me, but he also buys and sells stuff like books, movies, cds jewelry stuff like that. So we are always in there too seeing the new goods and we always get discounts cause we are tenants, and I have lived here for 15 years. Even longer than he has owned the place!!!
