This is my 3rd year volunteering through Revenue Canada's community volunteer program, to do income taxes for low income individuals.
I'm doing every Tues. in March at an MP's office, and every Thurs., at a social service agency that supports seniors, and a couple of one day clinics here and there. I'm really looking forward to it, as it uses my skills - I'm a CPA- but am currently on disability, but mostly I just like helping people. The people whose tax returns we file are so grateful for the help that they're always nice and friendly, and it really helps them. By filing taxes, even if they don't owe money, it makes them eligible for all sorts of credits that can make a big difference to their income for the year. So it's a win-win. splitimage

I think it is fantastic that you are volunteering your time for this.
At the nonprofit agency I'm on placement at for college, they are also offering free income tax services. I imagine there are many individuals who will be grateful for your free services, kudos!

Thanks, you give me hope to carry on - so many people just taking and exploiting in my city. It sure is a mess to have to do tax returns when you are living on the breadline!!!!
