I am vaccinated, but my mom lost the paperwork. So I can’t actually prove that I have the vaccine. I’m just worrying that if the outbreak gets really bad and places start asking for proof, I’m screwed. Also I don’t know if my job will start asking for proof that I don’t have either.

Any comments or suggestions?

I read they can draw blood and see if you have antibodies. Otherwise, they say there is no drawback to getting the vaccine again (i also asked my dr last monday). I plan to, as i have never had mumps. Also, i had german measles, but not red measles (as they called them in caveman times).
Thanks for this!

If you know where you got the vaccine that doctor's office can probably give you a copy of the paperwork.
Thanks for this!

your doctors office should have on your files when you had your vaccinations and if they dont its easy to solve. getting them again will not hurt. people have to get re vaccinated through out their life time anyway to ensure total protection. if you dont have the paper work and your doctor doesnt have it on record then its ok to just have them redone.

Were you vaccinated before 1989?

Have them test your blood for antibodies. I had this done, when I got a job at a hospital and had to prove that I'd either been vaccinated, or had had them and so was immune. It was a simple procedure in my Dr's office.

My doctor tested my blood and was able to see that I'm vaccinated. Ask for a blood test.

They are saying if you we're vaccinated in the 90s that you need a booster shot.Something about the MMR they used at the time.
Thanks for this!

I was vaccinated in 1993. Thanks for the info about the blood test. Hopefully it won’t go as far as needing proof when you go places.

They also say that if you had it done in the 60s that a booster is also needed because they didn't realize as it was new to do the second round of shots within a time frame. I didn't have mine in the 60s but did have measles as a child.
Thanks for this!

The reason I asked if you were vaccinated before 1989 is that a lot of people who were had to get repeat shots because the one wasn't enough. I had to get a repeat shot in 1994. You most likely got two sets if you were vaccinated in 1993.

Some of us grew up before vaccine & just had the measles.....obviously no proof of vaccine. Not sure proof of vaccine would actually be legal at least in the US because many of us older people didn't need vaccine after having had the childhood illnesses. I am not going to have a vaccine & overload my body just to please someone in government. By this point in my life those medical records are so buried they never could be found.
