I thought I would start a positivity thread to help people feel more positive about themselves, their lives, their day or their week.
When we focus on the negative too much, we can become more negative. If we can find one positive thing in our day, or two or three even, and focus on those, we can feel more positive about ourselves & our lives. On my happiness FB page, I like to encourage people to go to bed with at least one positive thought for the day. I also like to start my day with positive thoughts, no matter what has happened the day before. So, what happened today or this week that has been positive for you? Or, are there any quotes you want to share that inspire you to feel more positive? Share anything you wish.... large or small, quotes, gifs, stories, etc! |

I'll start. After a shaming type of comment my therapist made the other night, I am now wondering if she truly is the right therapist for me. I am questioning how helpful she's truly been after two years of therapy with her, and whether I am getting out of it what I need.
This is a positive for me since I really want to heal my oldest wounds, I want to grow and change for the better. I don't think she's truly helping me with that cause. And I finally am seeing this after all this time. Now may be the time to find a better fit. Leaving a bad therapist and finding a better one will help me tremendously on my journey of recovery. What I want and need. A positive!!! |

You’re being proactive leaving a therapist who made a shaming comment. It’s not ok imo for therapists to do this. I also would like to find a therapist who doesn’t make shaming comments I learnt something new today __________________ |

Although what I did instead was talk with her and tell her how I felt about her shaming comment. I wasn't confrontational or angry, I simply told her that it hurt me and offended me. She apologized, saying she realized she had said the wrong thing just as I was leaving the session. So I won't give up on her now, but at some point I will probably make the switch. I wish you all the best in finding a good therapist for yourself! |

This is my kind of thinking, every evening I find one good thing and every morning I find another.
Yesterday evening, I posted off an important letter and told myself it was right to do so. This morning I told myself that the past week went very well. __________________ A daily dose of positive in a world going cuckoo Humour helps... |

I have been searching for eucalyptus to put in my home because the smell is soothing for me. I finally found some today! And while I didn't find it at Walmart, I got 4 small vases there for $5 so when I did find it, I had vases to break the bouquets into and position all over the house! It was a pretty chill day today and that's a good thing. Also, I'm proud of myself for not flipping out with the office staff when I was trying to get help with my neighbor who had his stereo up really loud. If I have to deal with those kinds of things when I'm feeling ill or in pain, I am not very patient. But today, even though it was giving me a migraine, I was able to exercise patience with everyone about it. So that made me feel good about myself.

In the face of a self-esteem hit I took, these quotes helped me to feel better about myself this morning:

Yes. I was out with an aquaintance and I ran into someone else. Now, I am not particularly friendly with this person but he is an extrovert and excited to be back in the area and so we talked.
I have to mention this person is devastatingly handsome. A god. At least 50% of the time while talking to him I had to remind myself not to stare. But he is the kind of guy who doesn't seem to really be effected by it. He is either unaware of his looks or doesn't care. Had my acquaintance just come over to chat, and I was actually hoping she would, I would have introduced her but she ran off. The rest of the day she was remarking on it and seemed a little miffed. We are both too old to really be scoping for guys but it is always wonderful when a very good looking guy wants to talk to you and it makes others envious even for a second. |

I got an email saying when my New Coke will ship, and when it should arrive. I was terribly stressed I wouldn’t be able to get it at all. It was a ridiculous unnecessary amount of stress I was dealing with over this.

Despite my poor health condition I made it through the whole day, managed to work the whole day plus take care of myself. My client/boss, who I filled in on what's going on, said that she didnt notice me being slow or anything and was proud of me for managing myself. She also helped me prioritize my week so I can feel successful even though I'm struggling health wise.

My niece’s high school tennis team made it to state championship and she is leaving for it tomorrow to compete Friday morning, about 3 hours away. Her graduation ceremony is on Sunday so this is her last tournament as a high schooler! Fingers crossed for good game on Friday!!!
