Getting bullied because my clothes were not name brand and just getting bullied for my clothes in general. That **** stuck with me as an adult and now I have no problem spending $80 on a pair of Vans shoes or $100 on a North Face winter jacket.

"Steppes spread from Hungary" :-)))) we had to write that 50x as a punishment because no one in the class knew where the steppes spread from. :-)

Getting bullied from kindergarten through high school graduation.

I liked to learn, but my school life was pure torture.

So one memory that sticks out for me is being brought into school early. This happened to me throughout my life. Other kids were brought in early too and were asked to sit a room and wait until the start of school. Having problems sitting still and making new friends, it was arranged for me to be a cross guard. I was given a bright orange sash and the responsibility to hold the door open for students arriving on the special ed bus.

A few years later, it was explained to me that I do not make a "Shh" sound very well and my dreams of becoming a hall monitor were lost. As far as my learning goes, the lessons that I remember most were taught by favorite teachers. My favorite teachers were the ones who brought in video, songs or debate to help us learn.

Wow.....so many years ago.....

3rd grade our class built a colonial town buildings out of plywood. We also each made a small sailboat to sail in a little regatta. Think that was the teacher that said we could be anything we want, just work hard. I took that to heart & years later & some battling I graduated with my BS in accounting & computer science & had a great computer engineering career. First person in my family except for one other to graduate & become a professional.

I also remember an outstanding statistics prof in college who said NEVER buy whole life insurance, it is the worst investment you could ever make.....buy term life. Statistically he was absolutely correct

The 6th grade geography teacher
Who made Egypt a very interactive lesson that piqued my interests and fascination in the pyrymids and mummies, queens and kings the Nile and culture.
He wore green shoes, and told amazing stories.

9th grade literature teacher, an ex Marine, who caught my imagination and love of Macbeth, Ethan From me, and Oedipus Rex,
Caesar..... Kind of deep for a 14 year old. Never the less she helped wake up parts and interests in making subjects interesting.

I had this awesome junior high class counsellor who also ran the Student Counsel class. My dad worked nights & thankfully couldn't be there for any father/daughter activities. Don't know why my counsellor was so nice but he would always accept my invitation at be my adopted dad for those activities. I ended up in his student counsell class my last year of junior high when I was elected president of the Ladies (scholastic) club & a class representative. The semester I graduated from junior high I was also elected president of orchestra where I was first flute & got to direct the orchestra for one piece we played at my graduation ceremony.

I remember one report card day, I had all A's going into my last class which was Algebra. Sweating whether I had an A in that class too. Lol....was so excited when it came back an A also....all the ones around me celebrated it also.

I remember a few mnemonic devices:

R.O.Y.G.B.I.V. (the colors of the rainbow)
H.O.M.E.S. (the five great lakes)
King Phillip Cried Oh For Goodness Sakes (the taxonomy system)
My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas (the order of the planets)

So I'm still in college, but I do have a favorite memory. I never liked all the attention in highschool so I pretty much became a nerd. I remember that I was taking Health Science 1 in my Sophmore year, which is basically the anatomy part of Anatomy & Physiology. I took this class because I was in the health academy at my high school. Well, there was this section on the Skeletal system, and my friends and I studied for weeks for this test because it was worth like 220 points I believe, somewhere around that. My favorite part was going to the library and drawing on the whiteboard all the bones we needed to know and then naming each one. I love to draw so thats why it was my favorite time ever. And for my test, I only missed one question because I misspelled it. I was really happy back then.
