I would feel good if no little green soldier toys were made, at all.

an american company are making a " baby shark" toy, (along with mummy shark, daddy shark, etc) that sing the baby shark song and move about.
once I've got that collection (yes, I want all of them), I might get one of those toy soldiers |

I'm so sorry. I hope this thread didn't trigger you. If it did, I'm sorry. Perhaps my perception of these toys are different and I'm missing something about what they might represent for others with different experiences. |

I never looked at the sketches. Now I have to re-read the post that I shared. I only remember glancing at it when I saw it on my FB feed. I did a quick Google search and shared it here, without entirely reading the article. Eek. I'll go back and read it. You're welcome! Like @bpcyclist said here, "progress." |

@SlumberKitty - I know, right?! It is about time! We've had female soldiers since the toys' inception, I think. Sadly, it took all these decades to finally include female-gendered toys in the mix.
IMHO, it would be great if they had a transgender one as well, which would really show the diversity of our military today. |

I was considering doing some sketching tonight, except we ended up having late dinner. If I sketch, I use a soft lead grade such as a Faber-Castell 9000 pencil, 4B or higher. Then I can use a rag to smudge it out. Charcoal sticks are another media. I loved that site, but it is possible to overlook stuff, specially when we feel tired. Have a good evening and thanks for sharing. ![]() |

I am in agreement that I would prefer that war not be played at all. Green soldiers? Toy guns? Absolutely no entry into my home when my children were kids.
I am all for unisex toys though. It infuriates me to see boy toys and girl toys - like pink Lego play houses while the boys get the dragons and castles. My son wanted an easy bake oven badly and had a pink one. My daughter had her Barbies but also had her male action figures too. My mom wouldn't allow me to have a Barbie. I did have a GI Joe astronaut though and a Six Million Dollar Man doll. |
