I did something like this over the summer. When faced with a major task or a whole lot that needs to be done I tend to focus what still needs to be done an minimize what I've accomplished. This thread is to help me focus on what I've gotten done.

I took this week off to paint my Mom's house and work on sorting through the stuff that's still here perparing to put it on the market.

I didn't get started yesterday until after lunch. Took me a fair amount of time to pack everything I needed in the truck, then an hour drive to get here, then more time to unload. Anyway, I goy the frame around one front window painted and decided I needed to move to a shady spot. Paint on the frame was drying as fast as I could apply it. Moved to the caport where I got two support pillars, the storm door and its frame and the kitchen window frame done.

It started to rain so I moved inside. The trim work in one of the bathrooms needs to be painted. Got all but the part in the shower done. Since I desperately needed a shower I left that for later.

Okay, I'm off to get started for today.

Most of us tend to look at the rock face in front of us. It's so important to sometimes turn around and look at how far we've come. You're doing a great job, Liz

So far today I painted 2.5 big posts in the carport. Ran out of paint and energy at the same time. Before that I got 3 window frames, some gutter and the trim below the roofline across the front of the house done. The window frames are time consuming because it's detail work.
Ya know how when you start a project you discover other stuff that needs to he done? Painting the gutters I discovered a downspout was plugged. Climbed up the ladder with the hose at full pressure. Just kept jamming it down the spout 'til the plug broke. It felt good to get wet!
I thought I was being smart waiting until summer was over so I wouldn't be roasted alive while I work. We are set to have a record high of 90 something stinkin' degrees today!

No more painting since last post. I had to take the hedge clippers to the bushes so I can get in to paint the walls. Had to do it in stages. The heat was sapping my energy. 92 degrees in the shade. I don't want to know what it was with the heat beating off the wall at me. After I got that mess picked up I sorted through the stuuf that got stacked up on the porch. Filled a big trash can and got it all cleared out.

I was going to go do some grocery shopping this evening. It's going to have to wait. I'm pooped.

Well, I didn't do so well at daily updates. *sigh*

I got all over the trim on the house painted, including some new parts. Went back and got the second coat done on most of it. I'm hoping the walls go faster since it won't be so much detail work.

I was going to stsy through yesterday to get more done. A friend convinced me I needed to back off and get some rest this weekend. She was right. I'm pooped from the week's efforts and have to go back to work tomorrow. sigh again....

I think you are doing AWESOME!! You are doing your best and I think that is Great!!

You know, I remember little Billy in Family Circus and how he would take a million detours to where ever he was headed, but he got there in his own way.

So do we, LOL
