I'm starting this thread so that we are aware of the old and new threads that have an end-of-year holiday theme.

We can also share ideas here about starting new threads that don't exist yet, such as threads for those who don't celebrate holidays, other cultural holiday celebrations (e.g., Jewish holidays, etc.), and other holiday-like themed threads.

This might help new and current PC members to easily find the threads that don't always pop up in the search feature. Additionally, this is also here to help prevent duplicate threads, as well as to spark ideas for additional threads. Mods and admin can easily look at this list to see if any threads need attention, which will make their job easier, too, hopefully.

I'll find and list the holiday threads I had started so far, as well as any additional threads started by others on PC. I did a search and found a few so far. Please feel free to list any threads that you find or have started. Thank you!

Happy Holidays!

Thanksgiving (question only, not the actual thread that may be started by someone else later, but some active content about recipe sharing has evolved): PC Thanksgiving Party? (for us lonely folks and friends of the lonely)

These are great ideas @Lilly2! I’m looking forward to a positive and fun way to get through the next couple of months. Holidays can be a difficult time for some of us and anything supportive or fun we can do is a wonderful. Holiday Thread Listings 2019 (End-of-Year Themes)

FYI: The PC guidelines state ...

Quote:
Members who have other members on their Ignore list should not start community/group/game/party/holiday threads, because it would limit who could post to such a thread; such members should ask a community support team member to start the thread instead.
Here's the link to the guidelines: Community Guidelines

This thread is a brilliant idea! I found PC a few years ago due to holiday stress and started posting in order to cope.

Thank you, @TishaBuv

I feel less alone on PC now that I have someone to speak with over the holidays. For the past decade or so, I've mainly stayed home and watched movies or TV to cope. I don't have cable now, so I do everything online - easier and cheaper.

I'll see you around on the holidays - yay!
Thanks for this!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
