Since we moved, my daughter started at a private school. Although her joining was towards the end of term, starting recently helped her get acquainted with the education customised to suit her bright abilities. She wants to follow me into my profession. Naturally I'm very pleased with her decision. When her school reopens after Christmas and New Year, she will already have made good friends, most of them her age and some older ones.

During my absence from PC, my daughter and I have been having counselling and therapy sessions. Therapy for me over the tragic loss of my parents, in particular my Dad, and my daughter privately seeing a youth counsellor to guide her into coming to terms with the loss of her Grandparents. Our sessions though intensive finished yesterday. Bouth youth counsellor and my therapist were most understanding and empathic. We feel great!

I've become a partner at my place of work. Incidentally it's been requested by forum staff that I do not mention the name of my profession lest it becomes an issue with them. Please bear with me on this, thank you.

Some of my work colleagues left. Four moved areas to be closer to their families of which one was recently bvereaved, and another had to cease her job for being seriously ill. These departures left a big gap, so my Chief invited me to become a partner to enable our practice to prosper. I get to have regular hours, much more responsibility and a higher salary though I shall be taxed a lot more. Nevermind, we live in the UK that is great in so many ways, and paying taxes is a fair and square contribution in keeping our country prosperous.

Our house is lovely; we cannot ask for more. Last weekend our tomato seedlings germinated in the greenhouse warmth, piped under the ground from our central heating. Our garden whose trees are bereft of leaves save for the beautiful evergreens is tidy and well maintained since we took on a groundsman, all our 12+ acres and forest is looking good. Also included in the sale were another twenty acres. These are being let out to a local farmer. It's nice seeing cattle and sheep. We also got a cat and may yet get a dog, though unsure what breed yet.

To afford the house, a grade 2 listed manor, I was sad having to sell part of my late father's car collection in addition to selling my two seafront properties, but we all have to make sacrificies if we are to live in a beautiful village community. Our neighbour also happens to be my Chief and his wife and children, so my daughter and I are not alone. It's much nicer than living opposite the sea. Lest structural damage from maritime gales.

In addition to gardening and greenhouse, for a new hobby I've taken up woven tapestry, having bought a magnificent 100-inch Gobelin upright loom. During my sickleave I had private tuition from an arts and crafts woman specialising in woven tapestry. I bought several books for this specialist hobby, having found tapestry weaving very relaxing and calming. I've never felt better.

I look forward not only to be enjoying our new home and my having a super job with greater responsibility in 2020, but also to return here to PC and become part of our awsome community again. My absence was needed if I was to make any headway with my emotional trials. I'm so relieved my daughter has benefitted, too.

Happy Christmas and Happy New Year!

That's great news about your daughter and you. I'm glad to hear the therapy sessions helped so much. It's nice that you're getting tomato seedlings. I love fresh tomatoes. My mom always gives me some from her garden.

Your home sounds lovely. It's great that you're enjoying a new hobby too. Happy holidays to you and your daughter! May the New Year bring you much happiness and joy.
