This is a small gentle teddy bear growl. Someone suggested I did a growl like that.

Yes I too “struggle” with certain things this time of year . I can’t reply to a thread with .... maybe I can’t post at all or speak at all since I am not “normal”

In the whole of pc as well as the whole world I am the only person who is not “normal” - quite an unremarkable “achievement”

Everybody has their own special weirdness. It's what makes us individuals. There is value in diversity. Value in the individual notes in a song or the varied tones in a painting or the individual flavors that mix in our food. We aren't all meant to be the same, we're supposed to be varied and beautiful in our own way.

Fuzzy, " normal" is a setting on the dryer. Please don't beat yourself up for not meeting some non-existent standard. As Iowafarmgirl said we are meant to each be our own unique individual.

I'm certainly not "normal," even my dryer and washer don't have that setting. But it does make us all unique and interesting.

Fuzzy,

Normal is dull. Normal is boring. What makes people interesting is our diversity and differences.
Remember you're a wonderful and special Bear.

Fuzzybear!

What is normal? I think that when we think someone is "normal", really we just don't know them well enough to know all the weird non-normal things

And, I'm definitely not normal. I've had people specifically tell me that I'm not normal! Even my awesome neuroscience brain guy has told me that my brain is not normal, it doesn't fit in any of the normal brain categories (re: how it reacts to training) - so we're trying to figure out what will work for me.

Brain guy says to me, "Don't worry - weird IS normal!"

Lots of hugs (if you want them) to you! I think you're awesome, which is so much better than "normal"

I'm normal. My own normal. If I was like someone else instead of myself, I would feel abnormal.

@Fuzzybear Who defines "normal"? "Normal" is different to everyone, depending on who is defining it. Now, if we are talking societal norms, maybe you aren't normal, but then again, neither am I, and I've seen a bunch of other replies here, so I am guessing that you and I are not alone in not being "normal" by society's standards. That's okay, we don't need to be normal. We just need to be. Not being "normal" is what makes us unique. Take care of you.

I'm sorry I found this thread so late. I have never felt "normal". Since I was little, I always felt like I didn't fit anywhere. Eventually, I learned how to fake it, to pretend like I was like other people. I think it all comes from living in a world of my own, which I enjoy & feel comfortable in. I have wondered what percentage of the population is actually like me, pretending to be normal.

Yes I’m not normal since I’m not NT (neurotypical). Normal is pretty relative I suppose. Would like to be normal, but I don’t know I like things I’m good at and so I’m really good at some things (writing, learning foreign languages, spelling, etc.) and not as good at algebra and visual spatial learning. Oh well.

I'm not normal either Fuzzy. Even my act of normalcy doesn't last long in the world.
