People where I am used it in the 90's. Between that and Eat my shorts. 2000's strolled by and it felt like the age of the internet killed them off. But I remember people my age using them at one point.

I've only heard it in The Fresh Prince.
I used to say "this stinks on ice." But I don't know if anyone ever really said that one either outside of Rocket Power or some show.

I only heard "Smell ya later" on the Fresh Prince intro. I always found that line odd. Does it actually mean smell you later or does it refer to something else?
Bart Simpson's, "Eat my shorts" is one I heard people say.

I always thought the cab driver smelled bad and Will was being sarcastic. Doesn't Will even hold his nose or something when he gets out.

Yes, while the Prince exits the taxi in front of the mansion he pinches his nose.
