I know a few people who don't do any SM, but they are not very many.

Welcome to PC @Alexander98

I'm one of the few who doesn't use social media. Instead I email or private message on forums or by phone texting. Or I use DreamHost, which is an award willing subscription-paid platform for emailing and is a brilliant way of communicating online.

Your friend could join an online pen-pal site. This is a really excellent way of networking because it's comfortably one-to-one, and won't involve trouble makers and those who delight in using the 'Like' or 'Dislike' button which social media thrives on.

I hope that's useful.

I am really torn about the use of social media.
My friends who use it a lot tend to overbook themselves so much in real life that I have a hard time getting any time with them.
If I tried to use it heavily,I wouldn’t do right by anybody. I am best with one best friend and thats it. How to handle acquaintances, now called friends on Facebook,I dont know—maybe forums are best for that. I love Nextdoor, the neighbor and community forum.
I may use social media to access the writing community, but many writers need to minimize distractions in order to write.

Edit: oh, wait a sec . . .

Are you asking about someone else or yourself?

I hate social media, for many reasons, so long ago deleted the accounts I had established. I'm perfectly happy with that.

Who is she? I don’t think we can answer what this person wants. You can ask her

The original poster here is named Alexander. If that is the person’s first name,I’m guessing its a guy. If its their last name, who knows.
I understand what they’re saying. Like me they are torn between using it or deleting their accounts. The social media get more and more complicated.
However, this forum is social media, so. I guess I could say I prefer forums like this that cater to specific audiences.
So thanks, Alexander for helping me think this through.

Go ahead and ask her. As you can see, people have mixed feelings and different ways to use social media. It’s a very individual thing.

But what does it mean when you randomly think of someone and hope they’re doing well

I think it’s fairly common to think of all kind of people randomly and hoping they are doing well so I don’t think it means anything more than that
