I always found it harder to play games with keyboard and mouse did much better on consoles though it still depended on the style of controller
Liked the early SNES gamepad and the first playstation one. Didn't like the N64 controller as much or the wii remotes for playing platform/adventure style games such as Twilight Princess (only for exercising on wii fit). I do like the switch Joycons but didn't like playing Skyward Sword with motion control option so I do hope the new game I'm getting has a buttons option for accessibility! (just realised I never checked before I ordered it!! ..just assumed it would have to have accessibility options for disabled kids! ) |

The Switch OLED is my favourite at the minute just cos of the size of the screen but its still handheld so I can see games like Animal Crossing, Untitled Goose Game works too cos they are clear easy visuals and menu's and writing isn't so tiny that I have to put reading glasses on to play them whilst watching telly(cos then I have to keep taking them off to read subtitles on TV when I look up..lol!)
The older one (switch) has to be docked as the battery is knackered so it wont hold charge to play undocked so I leave ring fit in or some other game (like BOTW) that is much better played on the big TV. I still have a PS2 slim somewhere with some games!...and an old 3DS though that screen is far too small (with my old dodgy eyesight..lol!) ...shame you couldn't connect that to a TV as I have Ocarina of Time for that! I had the Gamecube, Dreamcast, Sega Master system and N64 , SNES, and original Playstation (still have that somewhere!) too in the past. oh and the Wii and Wii U though I only really used them for Wii fit and exercise games 2-3 times a week for physio/exercise..used them more like an 'home gym' than traditional games! (still do half an hour 2 times a week on Wii fit U as part of weekly physio) What consoles are people playing with on here? |

I don't have a PC anymore never tried or seen the X Box.
But I do like the OLED and I'm looking for more games like Animal Crossing (graphics wise - nice big characters, text, menu's) for more to play in handheld mode in the garden in summer. I do have Yonder the Cloud Catcher Chronicles, family got it for my birthday one year and had almost completed it on old switch (just hadn't done the 55 cats quest) but that has nice crisp visuals that may suit the OLED well, so I'm thinking of playing it through from beginning again instead of just transferring the save. Stardew Valley I'm finding the graphics too tiny and obscure to identify things and characters quickly in handheld mode, so lost interest. I did like the fact that the characters could hug though and wish you could do this in ACNH! (as I have one player as me and one as my mum so I can 'visit her' on ACNH) Started another island in AC. I'd like a game where you had more choice of dogs (character creation) and people, and could have more than one player on the farm (like you can have up to 8 sharing an AC island and call a resident to play 2 simultaneously). I have wondered about getting The SIMS but don't know whether you can create characters with different relationships (ie mother/daughter, twins, platonic friends or can you only live with someone you marry as in most games?) ...and have a good choice of dog breeds and cross-breeds and I'd have to buy a different console as I don't think it's on switch. I was possibly thinking of the PS5 but they seem hard to get and I haven't seen any games for them..unless they are all digital copies only?? |

what is daily life though can you design your houses? Make a farm in middle of nowhere with just like loads of animals etc or is it all about socialising and making a community and relationships? Have to admit I do like the look of PS5 better but there's no current games that I'm feeling 'I've got to get that' ..it doesn't seem to have 'taken off' in the same sense as switch....maybe the parts issue and difficulties getting one/cost of them have put people off so developers aren't going to make a load of money making games for it just yet? If the later ones were backwards compatible with the first ones it would make it more worth it (like been able to play my original and PS2 games on it too) and use as a DVD player. They seem to have focused more on online games and particularly games that are quite violent in nature. Partly why I prefer Nintendo cos they have more variety of genres ...exercise, cosy cutesy games, puzzles etc available for their consoles. |

You have different needs in the game you have to keep up, like hygiene, socializing, entertainment, hunger, etc. you have to stay on track and make sure all of those are taken care of, I don’t think you can make a farm but you can design your house however you want it, you can build the entire building however you want. You can get also get a job in the game to make money Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk __________________ “All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.” -St. Francis of Assisi

Though saying that I've just seen an ad for Animallia which looks amazing!!!!
Loads of wild animals and beautiful scenery you don't have to hunt them you have to save them after an apocalypse, although there are 'baddy' mutants to fight who have been 'infected' by a chemical or a plague or some kind! It has different modes too similar to Minecraft but way better graphics. so there's similar to the creative mode where you get all materials and can get straight into building, then something like the survival but peaceful mode...still collecting parts and following the story but no zombie/mutants to kill you and destroy your properties/stuff. Then the kind of full on 'survival' mode with health bars and baddies. At the moment it seems to have only just come out on PC, but I did see mention of it coming to PS5 too somewhere. The fact that there's a puppy you find that looks like my current dog would be motivation enough for me to buy it,though I want to find out if it can follow you about,is trainable (help you track animals etc) and whether there's other dogs, character and pet customisations etc. The bit of video clip I watched also showed a kitten and a horse available to ride in the beginning area. It does look AMAZING and its possible the switch wouldn't have enough graphics power to run it. If it had a dog that looked like my last one too the one that passed..my heart dog (I love all the dogs that have been part of my life but there's always that one that just really changed you/made a difference to your life) I would definitely splash out on finding a PS5 to pre-order somewhere! ..cos its just basically MC but way better graphics, more wild animals and my beloved furbabies starring in it!!! ..and I'd keep them safe in 'creative mode'!! (do hope you can cuddle and pet them!) Will definitely be watching more video's on the gameplay and finding out more about that one! |

Been looking into it and PS5's are really hard to get over here, it seems they making very limited numbers and aren't selling as well as predicted due to many games that were meant to be PS5 exclusive been put on PS4 too due to the chip shortages.
It also seems the switch OLED is not what was previously gonna be called the Switch Pro either and that maybe coming out for this xmas or spring next year and rumoured BOTW2 has been deliberately put back as it will be a Switch pro exclusive and the older ones may not have the power to run it. Its being rumoured to have the same kind of power as the PS4 in relation to what graphics it can handle, (so it could possibly run Animallica too) supposedly impressive for an handheld, though annoying as I only got the OLED this last xmas so family won't get me another this year not to mention the annoying fact of if BOTW2 won't run on older switches after waiting years for it to come out then not being able to play it unless I buy yet another Switch!! ...so end up with 3 only one of which Nintendo will officially recognise as my main device! Makes me want to throw them all out of the window and never play again! - except for the fact I've been doing research into gaming for older people and it has been found they really help with slowing down things like Dementia and Parkinsons cos they activate parts of the brain often lost first in those conditions. Parts involved with spatial awareness, getting lost, memory, hand eye co-ordination, planning ahead etc (things needed to take care of yourself). I know from using Wii Fit for physio for years, they can really help to keep you going and stay mobile, but it's frustrating to say the least!! (especially with the cost of living going up so much due to war in Ukraine etc..I don't even know whether I'll be able to afford to have the heating on to relive arthritis symptoms let alone buy yet another console just to be able to play a game I've been waiting years for!) so feeling fed up with them at the minute and lost interest! |

I won a visa gift card from a coloring contest my apartment building had. So I bought Fable Anniversary for my Xbox One X (digital version), it was on sale and I had wanted it for a long time
And also bought God Eater 3 for PC because it was also on sale and had been on my wishlist for awhile too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk __________________ “All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.” -St. Francis of Assisi

Awesome, it's a lot of fun Do you have a Switch friend code? I play AC a lot so if you ever wanted a friend on there I could be a friend, you could send it through pm, only if you want, you don't have to. I am pretty sure we have each other as friends on Steam

Hello Bird Good? Yeah, but that depends how you define 'good', I suppose. It definitely has that ES feel, the locations are familiar, the community can be fun and like other MMOs it's about progressing and adorning your character unless you want to join a guild and add the social thing too. I actually don't find it much of a challenge and miss the hoarding and occasional sense of terror I got with Skyrim (which has bags more atmosphere), etc. It leans more towards social, if you have a buddy you can do the quests at a leisurely pace, chat, giggle, rinse repeat. You know what, I may just have talked myself out of ESO. Might uninstall for a while - as it's also easy to dip into - and give Skyrim another bash. Last time I played Skyrim I had it modded and loved the sense of danger and randomness to encounters. Thanks for the inspiration... __________________ If you're going through hell, keep going... |

Just made it to the 5th star rank in Pokémon Legends Arceus! Now I'm working on leveling up my Pokémon some before I take on the frenzied noble Electrode
I'm also playing Fable: Anniversary Edition now on my Xbox One X, and it seems like it's gonna be a lot of fun __________________ “All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.” -St. Francis of Assisi

Be interested to hear what you make of The ESO once you get around to playing it. In the meantime I reinstalled Skyrim PC because of you and this thread. Just in the process of modding it. Not really interested in playing out a power fantasy so wanting to foreground the survival elements with focus upon vulnerability to the environment. __________________ If you're going through hell, keep going... |

Blizzard just announced their next release. This means that I can boost a character to 60 now.
