As the title suggests, what are things that helps calm you down?

For me its relaxing
Distracting myself with games or tv
Reading books
Seeing/talking to friends
Taking a hot shower
Eating tasty foods

Cold water or a cold pack from the freezer on my face, getting cozy under a blanket and listening to music or a good podcast, knitting, chatting w others, journaling, watching something light on tv.

Stress is a real bugbear. A funny cartoon or a joke is one thing that can recharge me. I do like the old Tom and Gerry's or the Animaniacs.

Going up the hill to the barn, feeding & brushing my horse & watching the gorgeous sunsets while listening to her munch on her hay

Watching the Daily Show with Trevor Noah an d Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Plus most any tv show hosted by anyone who is antiTrump. Being really funny sure helps destress me too.

Working on my computer with the fan blowing on me. I usually like journaling. I also relax with a Cappuccino. Oh yea, and sleeping with my cats.

I like sitting with my husband and discussing the day's events, news-wise. It helps me keep everything in perspective, and we usually agree very strongly on most issues. We make fun of the same things, and get exasperated at the same things. So it reminds me that a large part of my brain is still working just fine.

I also love to watch my BritComs. I adore the British sense of humour.

Watching Colbert and The Daily Show helps keep me sane, too.

Nothing. I just have to wait for it to wear off. Typically by the next morning I'm doing better.

Somehow, accidents find me more than they do most people and this bothers me especially because my athleticism is a trait I’ve been most proud of. I cannot be choosy with all the rain that is expected.

Today was hectic by the time 2 pm rolled around. So I pulled up TikTok and had some laughs.

I can relate to athleticism. When I had my career as a computer engineer, my lunch racquetball games with the guys I worked with released a lot of stress. Can relate to the injury though. I was playing on the challenge court, beat the "A" player on the last point & blew out my ACL in my knee doing it.

I took my cat to the vet today. Got caught in a bad storm. When we got home, I changed my clothes, fed my cat and took a nap. Naps always reset me.
