All 100% pay out of pocket. Ho, ho, ho! It was a merry Christmas. Such highway robbery is not the case in the country I now live in.

Over a year ago, my husband had a molar break in half. The US dental surgeon wanted $5,000 to give him a crown. Hubby just pulled the loose half out himself and has lived with that since. Once we finally get public insurance in our new country, that will be covered. Such dental procedures are considered included in health insurance. No need for extra insurance for dental.

Oh my god don’t even get me started. My daughter had her wisdom teeth out last week. They were literally growing sideways and impacted I had to take her to a place that did anesthesia. They wanted $2400. Thankfully we had upgraded our dental insurance however she’s going to use up all of the basically good benefits. I am in the process of having some crowns and fillings filled I have to finance it through care credit because it’s nearly $5000. It’s ridiculous

I don't know why you are scared of them. Keeping proper dental health is vital to avoid any health problems. I go to the dentist once every month to avoid any surprises. I force my kids to go too, as they are also scared of them poking into their mouths. My son needed braces as he was a teenager and apparently, looks are important more than anything so the last time we went was about a month ago. I suggest you do the same about having regular checkups to prevent any problems in oral health.

Still haven’t gone. I bought really good enamel repair toothpaste. So I’m trying repair any damage. And if I can’t repair the damage at least I can stop things from getting worse until I get the nerve to find a dentist. Which most likely won’t be for awhile.

2 of my wisdom teeth were growing in side ways in 2015 and were impacted. My mom made me get all 4 of them removed because she said if I didn’t get them all out at one time I’d never go back and get the other 2 removed. It was $2500 for all of them and I had zero insurance. I had to sign up for a care card and I paid $500 a month. I had terrible post op depression. But we had to put our old dog we had since he was a puppy to sleep the day before the surgery. So I think that’s why things were much harder then they should have been.

A dentist's job is to fix your teeth, period. However, not all dentists do a great job in this area. If you'd like to ensure your smile is as good as possible, it's essential to find a dentist with the proper capabilities. An excellent dental practice coaching should have more than basic tools and equipment and the correct patient-to-doctor communication skills. Moreover, they should have a high insurance rating to cover you in the event something happens to your teeth (e.g. tooth extraction).

I picked my dentist solely for the reason that they're open on Saturdays, so I don't have to miss work to get my teach cleaned. They're also close by, so it has worked out pretty well.

I go for a cleaning in a month. This is after a cleaning in March and then two crowns in July. The crowns used up most of my savings! But they had to be done- both my top two front teeth in the middle were half gone! I'm trying to get my youngest child- almost 20- to go get a cleaning as he has good dental insurance and he keeps brushing me off. All I asked is for him to call and make an appointment. Who knows when it will be but he has four days a week that he can go, so it shouldn't be a huge problem.

I still haven’t gone. And I’ve been neglecting my teeth again. I neglected them basically my whole life. I’ve only had cavity’s though. The most I’ve had at one time was 6. I had a really good dentist that I qualified for based on my income. I only needed my last 2 paychecks which were summer ones when work was slow so I always was requalified each year. The dentist was great. They only charged $30 a visit and they’d often do a lot of stuff at one time. So it wasn’t like they only did one cavity at a time so they’d get more of your money. I actually even overpaid a few times when I had insurance that I didn’t know I had. I got like a $212 check and they just gave it to me since they were non for profit. It was a great program but then Covid hit and they were advising to only go if absolutely necessary. Then I moved. They offered to do one last X-ray and cleaning and I really wish I had taken them up on that offer. Now I have no dentist and I’d have to look into see if a program like that is available where I live now.

I’m finally in the process of finding a dentist. I just have to get them when their office is actually open. Which won’t be until Tuesday. But my insurance covers up to $2500 a year of dental stuff. Everything from cleanings to extractions. I’m hoping I just have a few cavities and nothing major. I’d rather go to the dentist then to the gynecologist for an exam and that’s saying a lot based on how badly I’ve neglected my teeth.

But this is my sister and her family’s dentist and they really like him.

Honestly, going out, what isnt dangerous now.? We have to use our own judgement about our personal risks going out for any particular activity and what protective gear we wear.
If I dont go back to the gym, it will be horrible for my blood pressure and my arthritis.
If I dont go to the dentist, I will lose teeth.
If I dont insist my ex have medical procedures, he could die.
Phew! Thank goodness for Facetime and Zoom allowing us to work and maintain relationships in new ways!

I went today. Honestly I thought my teeth were going to be a complete train wreck. I had bad pain in a few spots. They took a few X-rays. The dentist came in. Said things were fine except for the buildup from not getting my teeth cleaned since January 2020. He said my issue is that I’m clenching my teeth from so much stress. I’ve had this happen before too where I’ve had extreme pain only to be told I’m clenching my teeth too much. So he’s going to do a full cleaning and X-rays on the 20th. Then make me a mouth guard after that.

But I wasn’t expecting such good news after 20 months of neglecting my teeth due to depression over Covid and not working so being out of a routine. I’ve been taking better care of them though for a couple months now.

The last time I went was 3 months ago to get the last of 3 fillings. I go back next weekend for cleaning. It's never a fun experience, but nothing I stress about or try to avoid.

I need to make an appointment. It's time for my 6 month checkup and cleaning. I found a dentist that is open on Saturdays, so I don't need to take time off work.

I just went a week ago for a cleaning and I had 7 cavities! And stupid me, I asked him to fill them all right there on the spot! And he did! My face was so swollen and numb and it was EXTRA numb because he had to give me an extra novocaine because I felt the drilling so it took forever to UN-numb. I think it was from my Seroquel. It dries out your mouth because the saliva production is nil. Or almost so.... Since they took me off it several days ago since I've been inpatient, the saliva has returned! (Watch pdoc put me back on it though!)
