has anyone actually come across any false information on wikipedia? (anyone can edit it, so can say anything)

I have come across many in complete artickles, or artickles where their are countless typing errors

I came across 1 artickle describing the status of a ride as " ****ed", but I edited that myself to say it was operating (or it was at the time, it closed at the end of 2019)

also seen a few artickles listing fewer episodes of a show than their actually are.

I defenetely don't trust it 100 percent (I still use it, but don't swear by it)
Hugs from:
Deilla
Thanks for this!

I’ve found wiki pages to be incredible informative. if you writing a research paper, Maybe try to use someone’s specific research as a source for your argument. Wikipedia is free and for the public and I couldn’t live without it.

Yeah I have. And then people will post it on Reddit and they will say “who did this???“ um, you did obviously.

Some people just think they are being really funny when they do stuff like that when they are really just being obnoxious.

I found more inaccuracies, rather than completely misleading information, in the earlier days of Wikipedia. The ability to contribute and edit articles has sort of evened-out the inaccuracies over time, I think, and it's gotten better.

I have noticed newer topics are more vulnerable to containing problematic material, than older, longer-in-existence ones.

Why do you ask, rv? I'm curious.
