How do you pass out candy this year with social distancing?
My neighbor said he was going to throw it at the children.
others suggested making a shute with PVC pipe. others are making gift bags to set on tables for the kids to take.
we usually have 2 hundred kids come thru at least.
My husband decorates the yard with 20 tombstones and ground breakers.
fog machine and torches. spooky music and wears a mic to scare the kids, of course he dresses up WE were dead bride and groom until I no longer fit into my wedding dress. 3 years ago, very depressing.

We don’t get anyone come to the door any more, but if we did I’d probably use my mum’s long grabbing tool for a laugh. Grab bags of sweets and let them drop into the kids’ goody bags! Setting little filled bags out ready to be taken seems like a good idea.

We are turning off the porch light and not participating this year. I made treat bags for my 2 nephews though.

I live in the rural part of the country. No one comes out to trick-or-treat cause farms are too far apart to make it worth while. We usually do trunk or treat at the church where everyone hands out candy from the trunk of their car in the parking lot. But think I will skip this year if they even are doing it

We’re not doing it either. In town there’s a drive by trick or treat but I’m betting the lights will be off in most houses this year. I only brought a small bag this year and gave most of it to my sister, bil and daughter’s family. I bought these tiny backpacks decorated with Halloween theme and filled them with candy and treats for the grand kids, then sent them by mail.

We haven't given out candy at Halloween for some years now. That was husband's decision. We would get a number of trick or treaters, if we did. But as for this year, during the pandemic, I would suggest many parents plan alternative ways of having fun on that day. There are alternative ways. Some ideas in addition to decorations outside and inside the house, could be special Halloween baking projects, crafts, listening to songs, parents telling scary stories, and the like. One different Halloween won't kill anyone.

I live in an apartment, so never get trick-or-treaters. But I believe my city is canceling it anyway.

We do not get much if any trick or treaters but will be keeping the light off because I do not believe trick or treating during a pandemic is safe.

I don't get any trick or treaters since I live in an apartment complex but my friend who does get them is putting out a table with 120 treat bags she put together for them to just come and take them while she remains inside.

This year bought Halloween candy for myself since like mini bags of peanut m and m’s, and like smaller portions of chocolate and peanut butter candy.
