I think I asked PC this...now I think of it I feel stupid. I asked if taking prenatal vitamins was safe even if I wasn't pregnant. At the time I figured you absolutely had to be pregnant to take prenatal vitamins or it wasn't good for you but I got a lot of "well, of course it's safe if pregnant women can take it."

Women are often prescribed them before getting pregnant. Like if you just consider it. When I considered another child, my ob/gyn immediately prescribed pre natal vitamins and said to start right away
