Happy New Years everyone! How do you spend new years? Friends, family, or even just yourself? I just hang out with a friend at her house. Very low key. Not a party person. Also, for me, it signals the end of the holidays. As I’ve mentioned before, I don’t like the holidays so I know that everything goes back to normal after New Years Day.

No more forced obligations or forced interactions for awhile. Also do you make resolutions? I don’t since nothing actually changes. It is just simply a new year, a new number. The same problems will still persist. Are you happy when the holidays are over? Hope it was great for everyone regardless of what you did.

I’m just hanging out today. I don’t ever do much on New Year’s Day. People are acting like 2021 is going to be great and a way better year than 2020. Covid is still rampaging through the country though and will be for at least another number of months so I’m not sure what those people who are saying it will be a great year are smoking.

Well normally it’s a low key tv watching day. Today Instead of the rose parade they seem to have a documentary about the rose 🌹 parade. Then when football takes over the tv we turn it off and read. Just mum and I keeping our bubble intact

Yesterday i went to walk with my friend in the morning. Then I went to my dads, was helping my dad to clean one of my moms closet. Then I went to buy flowers and went to a cemetery to visit three of our family graves: my mom, grandma and uncle. Then I did few things at home.

My husband worked last night so he slept during the day, then went to work. I was home alone at night. Watched tv. Talked to people, talked to my daughter, son in law, stepdaughters, all my nephews, nieces, friends so I was pretty much on the phone all evening, I even checked on chat on here but I wasn’t very good chat mate lol because I was multitasking as always.

Today my husband came home exhausted, oh goody he got Covid patient on the unit now. Great. Not. I made us breakfast and he is sleeping now. I was on zoom for two hours helping a student with something. Now I gotta get some paperwork done as we are going back to work on Monday. Then I had to sort out guest room.

Then my husband will be up, he put grocery order in and we will have some goofy foods he makes for New Years lol and we will hang out tonight.

I stayed up until midnight with mum last night, but worked today. If I’m at home I don’t do a lot, anyway, but it’s nice being able to chill out.
Thanks for this!

Same. Yeah every yeah people act like all problems will disappear. Covid will be rampant in 2021 and we will not get back to normal until the summer or fall of 2021. So basically late 2021 we will finally see more of a pre pandemic normal but even then it will be slow. Complete normality may actually not be until very late 2021 or even early 2022. But at least things will start to improve.

Oh wow, you sound so busy. And sorry about the whole Covid thing. Surprised you are doing work with a student on a holiday.

I normally spend time with friends, but this year because of Covid I spent it alone with my cat. I chatted with online friends for a while, but went to bed around 10.
Thanks for this!

I like to keep busy. That’s my motto. I am chilling now though.

Well she needed help on a project. I wasn’t busy. It doesn’t matter when I work. I am salaried so not like it matters when I do the work and how much. If I don’t do it now, it will have to be on Monday and it will be a busy day, so it works for me. We were online for a month per governor so I got used to working all the time not separating work and home. We will be going back in person so I’ll have to adjust to commuting and not being readily available. It’s all good

Covid is part of our lives now, I guess. My husband says is all matter of time before he gets it but so far he didn’t. So maybe we’d be lucky
Thanks for this!

Oh okay. Not bad. For me, I still have to go to work even though it is remote. But everywhere is different. And yeah, Covid is part of our lives. If I haven’t gotten it yet, I most likely will. I think we all will at some point.

We took the ornaments off the tree. We’ll take the tree down tomorrow and start putting away the more Christmas things like Santa clause and nativity, but leave the snowmen and trees.

I knitted the beginnings of my first sweater, and I talked to my brother on the phone as well as a friend of mine. I went to my parents house for a little while. And I roasted some sweet potatoes in the oven.
Thanks for this!
