I have never been to a disney theme park/ resort, but I'd really like to. it's on my list to go to the one in california where it all started, and possibly the florida one too

what about you

I haven’t gone but I’d like to go to Disney Land. My mom says I’d just get freaked out by the crowds and shut down.

My husband wanted to go to disneyworld so we went for our honeymoon, waaaaay back when. I think the Flintstones were still alive! I kept saying, "gee, this is just the best place in the world to have fun that there is, isnt it?" Like as its mission statement? But the h didnt respond. Set the tone for the marriage.

My first and only time on a roller coaster.

Might have gone to disneyland with 2nd h, cant really remember. Vaguely remember being on the pirates of caribbean ride with him.

The Florida one is bigger and better, but I've been to the California one more often because I have family there. I'd love to go with friends instead of family.

Thats what i remember, seeing disneyland after disneyworld, land was shockingly small!

But disneyworld even 45 years ago was soo expensive. We couldnt afford to stay on site, we stayed at an outside motel. I remember the key lime pie at the motel diner though - my first one, and soooo delicious!

I think that's probably in my top 3 reasons I don't want to go, too

the other 2 being I can't aford it, and I have a fear of flying

I grew up going to Disneyland often & my best friend's dad worked on designing & building the rides so I went with them often cause it was free to get in. Good memories but I have NO DESIRE to go to any place where there are crowds of people. Was like that long before Covid entered the scene. I am happy on my peaceful little farm surrounded by nature.

I've been to Disneyland several times and absolutely loved it! Really fun and truly like being in another world. Of course, the best was taking my children when they were young.

I bet he had some stories to tell. of how he designed the rides and where the initial concept came from

It was & they used my best friends old violin bow for the pirate playing the fiddle. Probably long gone by now. Was fascinating to learn how they did the haunted mansion too.....years ago now
early 1970's

I went to Disney World and associated theme parks twice in my youth. The first time with my whole family (including both siblings) when I was about 8 or 9 years old. The second time I was about 15 or 16. I enjoyed the experiences, particularly during the first trip. I have no desire to go to any Disney park again, though. I have no children, and such places are not as interesting to me as an adult. I suppose I would enjoy it if I had kids, not so much for my sake, but I am sure parents like the joy it brings many children. Disney parks are extraordinarily expensive.

My European husband has never been to any Disney park. He hates the whole Disney thing and even calls it "Mouschwitz".

This thread made me remember my senior high school Grad Night. We all went on buses to Disneyland and, along with some other schools, got to stay all night in the park with our friends. Best Grad Night anyone could have!

That sounds awesome!

My high school grad night was at the YMCA. Doesn't really compare...

That's hilarious...in a very dark way.

As a small child I my parents took me to Disney World shortly after it opened (1975, or so?). There was nothing surrounding the main park except swamp land. I've heard there's not much space left & Orlando is now a major city! The song "It's a Small World" still haunts me! Yikes!

well: I guess the lyrics are true enough, though. it's a world of laughter a world of tears.

I had to
