When it snows, Portland, OR shuts down. There has been ice, freezing rain, snow, wind, and snow drifts. Other parts of the United States have snow as well. Sure it's pretty but when you live in an area without the right equipment to take care of the roads it's dangerous.

I thought it would be fun to have a place to post pictures of the snow. Here is one that shows the snow. All were taken from windows. My front door most likely has snow in front.SnowSnowSnowSnow

This is the snow we have had since Sunday 6th Feb. I have been house bound as the snow is up past my knees and no public transport is on. I walked to my Sister's which took me over an hour. I was shattered. Snow is falling again just now. This reminds me on the storms in 2010 and 2017. Scotland isn't prone to severe snow not where I live lol. 20210213_144242.jpg20210212_215050.jpg20210212_215044.jpgScreenshot_20210209-155824_Facebook.jpg

It’s snowing now all day. Don’t have pics at the moment but it’s pretty bad here.

Sheesh! That's a lot of snow for Portland, and I did not know that it snowed in Scotland. One of my nieces is in San Antonio (Texas) and they had a dusting of snow this morning. Not us...we're so warm here, I can tell summer will be blistering hot. *sigh*

Scotland was down to -28 degrees Celsius this week. That is the lowest its been in February in decades. The snow was crazy at my flat its mostly gone that wet way now we call it slush snow and melted snow together. I love snow just not ice I get so scared.

A snow hotel... If only I could make that. There's plenty here for that.

Nice idea!

We have ridiculous cold right now in Denver. It looks like a tundra outside literally. It's -8 out right now. Ha.

Living & growing up in the great white north, it's kind of scary to witness TV footage of folks unaccustomed to driving in snow take to the roads when there's only a slight dusting.

We got some snow last night, unusual for Texas. There's about half an inch on the ground. The whole city is shut down, lol.

We have had 2 ice storms since Feb 10 & a snow storm Thurs that dumped 3/4 inches of snow on top of the ice. Lost a huge branch out of my pine tree & an old locust tree. Got out & cut back the frozen branches before the 2nd ice storm. It is so gorgeous with all the ice sparkling & snow. Sun was out today but it was 7°F this morning. Everything was covered in frost but sparkling in the sun. So much beauty in this weather. We were lucky in my area to have never lost power during this. In 2009, we lost electric for a week in the ice storm we had then.

Only problem I had was getting up the steep driveway to the barn where my horse is. One day I had my truck in 4x4 & it actually started sliding backward down the driveway. It stopped sliding & I was able to shift into 4x4 low & put my truck in drive 1. Aimed my tires for the grass to get traction & slowly crept to the steep hill. Ice was what caused that. When we got snow the driveway was easier to get up & down. Glad I don't live in this all winter caring for my horse but I definitely enjoy a few weeks a year of this weather.
