I put mayo in my hair once a month. It makes it extra silky and strong and it it helps not make my hair too thick, AKA makes it lay more nicely. What about you? Have you tried it? All I do is put a towel around me then put just enough mayo to cover roots to end, but not a super thick slather of it, just enough to saturate it. I enjoy my routine, I can't guarantee nothing but it is a fun thing to do when you've got nothing better to do, LOL.

Only once in my life did i grow my hair long ,that was to donate to "locks of love" , the other 50 years i basicly have my hair a little longer than a "high and tight" ( a huge personal annoyance for me is none other than hair touching my ears ) .
Any particular brand of mayo you prefer ,will miracle whip work ?, I guess another reason I haven't done it is I am allergic to eggs ,haven't eaten egg since I was like two years old . Though i do know people who swear by putting castor oil in there hair and other things . |

I use Hellman's. My family has an inside joke,"Miracle whip? I'm aginnit!" My grandma says it doesn't matter if it's light mayo or regular mayo, but I particularly like the regular mayo.

I put mayo in my kids' hair when they were young. They came home from school with head lice & the doctor said putting mayo on their heads with a shower cap on overnight would suffocate the little parasites. You're not only making your hair more to your liking, but you're also delousing yourself, LiteraryLark. Two birds...one stone.

I haven’t even eaten mayonnaise for the past 15 years. I got really sick one time from a tuna sandwich. I can’t even smell it. I put hair gel in my hair and spike it up a bit.

I have heard egg yolks can help for dry hair, so I think mayo would be similar.

That was a seriously dumb thing to do. What did she think would happen when she applied the glue? Suing for gluing? |

I've never even thought to put mayo in my hair. Sounds like an interesting idea that could have benefits.

I know someone who puts eggs in their hair as a shampoo. I've never tried either. Yeah I think the smell of the mayo, I'd dislike.

I don't think I could put mayonnaise in my hair. Maybe mustard, though!

Yuck, no. But my mom put mayo in my hair when I was 5. I had very long hair that got a terrible tangle in it, so she used mayonnaise to untangle it.

If you want to do egg yolks ,get "Kewpie" mayo ,its Japanese mayo made with only yolks. I don't know any brand names but if you go to any type of Asian market and ask for it, they can hook you up .
