I have a thread about shopping for another truck since my other was on its last legs. I got a new, well new to me, one today. I'll post a pic later. It's dark now. Doesn't have the bells and whistles my other one had, but that would've cost me about 10 grand more than I wanted to pay.

Oh I’m so glad you found something so quickly. May it last decades

What a mystery. I'm really curious to see what met your high criteria. Good for that you passed on all the bells and whistles--who needs a "Cadillac" of a truck, for good- ness sake!

Congrats on your new family member!

The "new" truck is a 2017 Toyota Tacoma with an access cab. It's only got 21,000 miles on it and was in my price range (low 20's).

Trav, you're right. I want a truck to use as a truck, not a car. The friend that went on a test drive with me commented it rides like a truck. I told him it is a truck. He drives a Lexus.

They gave me exactly what I hoped to get for my old truck. So I traded it in. I gave it a pat on the hood and thanked it for its years of service before I left.

I'm kind of silly about moving on. I like the new truck. I'm sure it will give me years of good service too. Still I have some sadness about letting go of the old one. In some ways I have trouble letting go... truck, critters, people....

Anyway, I'll post a pic later. Right now it's covered in dew. Gonna wait for it to dry off.

Oh, liz, it is the cutest thing ever!

Beej is gonna think its his new chew toy!

I got curious as to what an access cab was so i googled - how cool! A door that opens from the inside?! A nice little spot.

But omg that is the BEST shade of red

If Beeg chews on it I will pull his teeth with my bare hands! He is more interested in all the wonderful smells on it. It got a ride around the yard too.

Access cab means there is space behind the seats. It gives me a place to put things out of the weather if I want. My other truck had jump seats back there. I thought they were suitable for torturing people. No jump seats in this one. I never have more than one passenger so I don't care.

I never had a red car before. Wasn't sure I wanted red, but have come to like it. Am going to have to be careful though. Red cars are more likely to get speeding tickets because they draw attention. I can have a lead foot.

A cuuuuuute motorcycle cop once pulled me over for gunning my little Chevy S-10 truck over a little hill on the xway. I thought he was gonna drop his teeth when he came up to my window and saw a little ol lady settin there in a navy blazer, red lady bow tie, and blue oxford shirt with white collar and cuffs. Dressed for success! He let me off with a warning.

I liked not having a back seat. I filled the space up with junk and trash anyway.

I have a red car---for over 9 years and have yet to get a ticket. But, I'm not exactly lead-footed when I drive. Toyotas have a good name. My hubby has a Toyota Highlander--his third Toyota.

Nice choice! Enjoy!

Congratulations - looks like a great truck. And I love red vehicles.
